Strictly's Pete Wicks suspects public are 'playing cruel joke' on him
What Did You Overlook?
Pete Wicks, a semi-finalist on Strictly Come Dancing, hints that the voters might be playing a bit of a prank by keeping him and Jowita Przystał in the BBC show.
Recognized for his numerous appearances on reality television, the former TOWIE star spoke with Claudia Winkleman during the results show on Sunday, December 1. The host inquired if he had any words for the audience watching from home.
His response was characteristically modest.

"Winkleman remarked, 'Pete, you seemed really touched during that moment,' while Wicks, Przystał, Chris McCausland, and Dianne Buswell all settled onto the sofa."
"I'm at a loss for words each week, but this week in particular hits hard because I really put in my all," he said, just after finding out he was safe from elimination in the dance-off.
"I'm just an ordinary guy on a journey to learn new things. It means a lot to me to bring Jowita to the semi-finals because she truly deserves it all. I really didn't want to disappoint her tonight by making a mistake."
Montell Douglas confesses that she couldn't sleep following her mistake on Strictly.
Strictly fans are excited about the reunion of Miranda in the ballroom crowd.
This year's quarter-final of Strictly features one significant change.
Winkleman, who also hosts The Traitors, then inquired whether Wicks had any message for the public after he cast his votes to support both him and Przystał.
"I can't shake the feeling that this might just be a mean prank," he said with a straight face, "but I truly appreciate it. I'm genuinely touched by it."

At the conclusion of the program, Montell Douglas and her professional partner Johannes Radebe faced elimination in the most recent dance-off against Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, after the judges all made the same choice.
"[Johannes] has been incredible," Douglas shared with Tess Daly. "Participating in Strictly has affected me in ways I never thought it could. As an Olympian and a Gladiator, I've faced challenges with my self-confidence throughout my life, but being part of this show, surrounded by the wonderful team, judges, and fellow contestants, has truly been a privilege."
Radebe expressed his admiration for his celebrity partner for the 2024 season, saying, "I’m really proud of you, especially since you didn’t have any dance experience before. Yet, week after week, you've managed to deliver stunning performances."
"I just want to express my gratitude for recognizing and honoring our art of Ballroom and Latin dance. You handled everything with such professionalism. To me, you're the champion."
Strictly Come Dancing will be back on Saturday, December 7, airing on BBC One.
