Footage shared on social media captured Farrell, 65, expressing his frustration while performing their 1986 track “Ocean Size” in Boston on Friday night.

The singer is captured on camera as he approaches Navarro, yelling directly at him before forcefully shouldering past the guitarist.

Navarro, who is 57 years old, eventually ceased playing and raised a hand to push against Farrell's chest as Farrell kept yelling at his longtime bandmate.

He then hit Navarro on the shoulder while others, including bassist Eric Avery, stepped in to separate them.

Additional members of the stage crew then held back Farrell, while Navarro stepped away, removed his guitar, and knelt at the front of the stage, apparently to express his apologies to the fans.

Farrell appeared to be having a tough time as he was pulled off the stage.

Perry's spouse, Etty Lau Farrell, mentioned on Instagram that he became frustrated because "night after night... the band was overpowering his vocals."

She mentioned that Perry had been dealing with tinnitus and a sore throat every night, and he became frustrated when audience members in the front row expressed that the band was too loud and made it difficult for them to hear him.

Her husband became extremely agitated for the next thirty minutes backstage, where he eventually broke down and sobbed uncontrollably, she noted.

The concert in Boston, which was part of the band's Imminent Redemption reunion tour, wrapped up after 11 songs, according to Variety. Typically, they perform around 14 or 15 tracks.

According to Rolling Stone, fans on social media noted that the conflict seemed to have been building up for several songs before the incident occurred.

The fallout comes after an event in New York where Farrell shared with the crowd that "there's an issue with my voice. I suddenly can't hit the notes."

The group was established in Los Angeles in 1985 and includes Farrell, Navarro, Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins.

They are currently on a tour across the United States, with their next performance set for Sunday in Hartford, Connecticut.
