Pep Guardiola is a Spanish former professional football player and current football manager who is widely considered to be one of the greatest football managers of all time. He was born on January 18, 1971, in Santpedor, Spain. He started his professional career in 1988 with Barcelona B, the reserve team of FC Barcelona.

Guardiola made his debut for the senior team in 1990, and he went on to win numerous titles with Barcelona, including six La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles, and the UEFA Champions League twice. He retired from playing in 2006 and became the coach of Barcelona B in 2007. By 2008, he had been promoted to the position of the head coach of the senior team and led them to one of their most successful periods in history.
