Think for a moment, if you are able to, about Penny Mordaunt, who is the leader of the House of Commons. She is also a reservist in the navy and was once a contender for party leadership. Tonight, she will be participating in a television debate along with six other individuals, filling in for the prime minister. This is her duty and her way of serving her country.

Mordaunt can expect to face criticism and intense questioning during the discussion. Farage and Rayner have recently demonstrated their communication skills and ability to navigate the media successfully.
