Prince Harry named in Sean 'Diddy' Combs sexual assault lawsuit
The Duke of Sussex has been implicated in a legal case involving a claim for $30 million in the United States. The lawsuit accuses the rapper, Sean "Diddy" Combs, of exploiting the Duke's name to lend credibility to his sexual slavery gatherings.
Last month, a lawsuit was filed in New York by Rodney Jones, a record producer, alleging that Combs, who is 54, committed numerous acts of sexual assault. The lawsuit, which is 73 pages long, names several of Combs' associates and record labels as defendants.
According to the lawsuit, Combs is accused of organizing parties that involved sex trafficking. The claim states that those who were involved in these events or provided funds for them were able to meet famous individuals, such as Prince Harry from the United Kingdom.
The lawsuit mentions the Duke only once. It doesn't imply that he knew about the accusations or was implicated. Rather, he is mentioned as a prominent figure that the defendants could have interacted with.
According to The Telegraph, The Duke has only encountered Combs on one occasion and has never participated in any of his events or performances.
Back in 2007, Prince Harry had his picture taken alongside Prince William, Combs, and Kanye West. This happened right after the two rappers had given a performance at the Concert for Diana held in Wembley Stadium.
During the occasion on the late Princess's 46th birth anniversary, Combs, who is also recognized as Puff Daddy and P Diddy, presented his rendition of I'll Be Missing You.
Even though he had only crossed paths with the Duke of Edinburgh on a single occasion, Combs brought him up during an interview with The Sun back in 2012. In the said interview, he expressed his eagerness to visit the United Kingdom and specifically London, which he considers as one of his preferred cities to explore.
I'm also looking forward to meeting Prince Harry during my visit. He seems like a really awesome person, and it's been too long since we last chilled together. I'd love it if he could show me around some of those crazy nightclubs in Mayfair too.
The legal case in the United States claims that Combs' associates received financial benefits "by taking part in and making Combs' sex trafficking venture possible" due to their "association and opportunities through Mr. Combs' fame."
The blog states that Mr. Combs was famous for hosting exceptional parties. Being associated with or sponsoring his events that involved sex-trafficking provided a sense of credibility and granted entry to famous individuals, including renowned athletes, politicians, artists, musicians, and notable figures such as Prince Harry from the British royal family.
Combs has been accused of various wrongdoing lately, such as sexual assault accusations. However, he denies any wrongdoing and boldly claims that his accusers are only after money and nothing else.
Officials from the US Homeland Security raided his residences located in Los Angeles and Miami on Monday.
According to the agency, they took law enforcement actions as a part of their investigation with the help of HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners.
The US network, Fox 11, stated that the raids were linked to an investigation about sex trafficking at the federal level.
According to NBC News, federal officials in Manhattan have conducted interviews with three women and one man. In addition, there are three more interviews scheduled to investigate allegations related to sex trafficking, sexual assault, and involvement in illegal activities involving narcotics and firearms.
Just last week, one of the individuals accusing Combs of sexual assault was instructed to disclose their identity. The court came to the decision that the complainant would no longer be permitted to remain unknown if the lawsuit moves forward.
