Sean "Diddy" Combs, the well-known rapper and music executive, was taken into custody on Monday night at a hotel in Manhattan. This came after a federal grand jury decided to formally charge him with several undisclosed offenses.
Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that his office plans to make the indictment public on Tuesday morning. Combs is also anticipated to appear before a federal judge at that time.
Over the past year, Combs has been under federal investigation, along with facing multiple civil lawsuits that allege sexual misconduct and abuse.
In March, federal authorities conducted searches at two residences belonging to the musician, one in Los Angeles and another in Miami, as part of an investigation into sex trafficking.
Marc Agnifilio, Combs' attorney, describes the hip-hop artist as "an innocent individual who has nothing to conceal."
"We are disheartened by the choice to advance what we consider to be an unfair case against Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney's Office," Agnifilo stated.
