Galatasaray is nearing an agreement to bring in Napoli striker Victor Osimhen on a loan deal, as indicated by reports.

Chelsea had long discussions with Napoli about signing the Nigerian player towards the end of the transfer window last week. However, they were unable to come to an agreement with both the club and the player.

Napoli had agreed to an offer of €80 million (£67.3m) from Al-Ahli, but Osimhen once again rejected a transfer to the Saudi Pro League for the second year in a row.

However, since the transfer window in Turkey is still active, Galatasaray has reached an agreement with Napoli to bring the striker on board on a temporary basis for the rest of the season. The Nigerian player is expected to undergo a medical examination before the deal is officially finalized.

As reported by The Athletic, the agreement for the loan will not have a choice or requirement to purchase the forward. However, there will be a possibility for the deal to be terminated if other teams show interest in permanently signing Osimhen once the transfer window opens again in January. If this happens, the Turkish club will be compensated.

Galatasaray is looking to bring in a new striker to challenge Mauro Icardi, who is currently out with a hamstring injury for a month. They have been successful in their first two matches in the Turkish Super Lig and will be facing Tottenham in the Europa League next month.

Before the relocation, Napoli manager Conte had explicitly stated that Osimhen would not be brought back into the team after being excluded from the squad since the beginning of pre-season.

'Absolutely, these are the players. This is the squad,' Conte declared following his team's 2-1 victory against Palma on Saturday.

We came to conclusions. I talked about consistency earlier. People who aren't reliable don't follow the guidelines. Once again, it's about showing respect to the organization. The president stayed true to his word even when faced with financial losses, credit should be given where it's due.

The team showed regularity, understanding that if things had happened sooner, we would have all benefited. As mentioned, we have begun a process of rebuilding. We welcomed talented players who were available. It took some time for us to assess and consider them, but we ultimately signed them, and I am pleased with the outcome.

'We may not have completed all tasks, but that's alright. I believe that the club performed admirably.'

During the weekend, Giovanni Manna, who is the director of Napoli, mentioned that Osimhen still wants to leave Napoli. However, a move to the Premier League is not possible until January.

It is obvious that Victor does not want to stay at Napoli and play for the team. This has been clear since the end of the last season. Manna mentioned that they have tried to accommodate his wishes and make him happy.

After discussing terms for buying players, we believed we had reached an agreement, but it ultimately fell through. We acquired Lukaku and retained Raspadori and Simeone, a result that was unexpected but appreciated.

Right now, we are staying true to our original plan. He has decided he no longer wants to play for Napoli, so we have had to make different decisions.
