Tom Cruise makes a grand entrance at the end of the Olympics.

Famous actor Tom Cruise surprised everyone by descending from the roof of Stade de France during the Paris 2024 closing ceremony on Sunday night.

Onlookers cheered with excitement as the actor from Mission: Impossible, wearing a leather jacket and gloves, descended into the stadium while his colleague H.E.R. played the guitar.

To celebrate the transfer to Los Angeles, where the 2028 Olympics will be held, Cruise appeared in a pre-recorded video journeying through Paris and then heading to the US.

He traveled to the famous Hollywood sign and displayed the Olympic colors. The event in Paris served as a formal goodbye from the host city of this year.

Cruise smiled as he was surrounded by a large group of athletes when he arrived at the stadium after descending about 50 meters (164 feet).

The musician H.E.R. showed off her skills by playing an electric guitar after giving a bold performance of the US national anthem.

After Cruise grabbed the Olympic flag from Paris superstar Simone Biles, a famous American gymnast, the excited crowd saw him speed off on a motorcycle.

The recorded video of his trip to Los Angeles had music from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who are from California.

The popular funk-rock band performed their well-known song "Can't Stop" on a beautiful beach in Los Angeles. Billie Eilish and Snoop Dogg also took the stage, with Dr Dre joining them for a special performance.

Snoop, born in Los Angeles, was often seen at the games. The US finished first in the medal count after a thrilling victory in the women's basketball final on Sunday.

Cruise was surrounded by athletes as soon as he arrived.

Tom Cruise, famous for his role in Top Gun, is well-known for doing his own dangerous tricks.

In the past ten years, there have been thrilling stunts performed for the Mission: Impossible movies, such as climbing the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and hanging onto the outside of a plane during takeoff.

Artistic director Thomas Jolly followed up Cruise's impressive performance with another visually stunning segment. In a quiet, dimly lit arena, a group of dancers moved five huge rings across the stage, eventually forming the Olympic logo.

The dark science fiction style was suddenly interrupted by an energetic show from the French group Phoenix, who performed two popular songs. They were joined on stage by athletes, much to the dismay of the stadium announcer.

Cruise left the stadium in a cool way riding a motorcycle.

Cruise's involvement in the Paris event was no secret at all. Speculations had been circulating for days, long before he was seen at the stadium on Sunday night.

The 62-year-old was seen multiple times in Paris during the two weeks of the Games, showing support for the US team in the swimming relay and watching American gymnast Simone Biles win multiple medals.

"It's amazing," he said to Reuters news agency back then. "Fantastic narratives, fantastic athletes. It's astonishing what they accomplish."

The artistic director, Jolly, organized a lavish opening ceremony for the Olympics last month. The event included a stunning boat parade on the River Seine and a special performance by singer Céline Dion.

Fans eagerly sought out opportunities to take selfies with Tom Cruise during the Games.
