Exciting Saturday Highlights And Must-See Stars

The initial gold medals of the summer will be awarded in the morning, with the mixed 10m air rifle finals happening at 09:30 BST. The current Olympic champions, Chinese team Haoran Yang and Qian Yang, are not participating, giving Team GB members Michael Bargeron and Seonaid McIntosh a great opportunity to win the first medals of the summer.

Next up in the competition will be the women's 3m synchronized diving final, closely watched after the shooting finals. The British pair of Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen, who have been partners since 2023, will be aiming to win their first medals in this event.

One of the main highlights at Paris 2024 will be the swimming events happening at the Paris La Defense Arena. Fans can look forward to watching new disciplines like the women's 100m butterfly, 400m freestyle, and the men's 100m breaststroke. The day will end with exciting finals in the men's and women's 400m freestyle, and the 4x100m freestyle relay.

Numerous athletes from Team Great Britain are aiming to compete in various events, such as Adam Peaty vying for a place in the final of the men's 100m breaststroke as he strives for his third consecutive gold medal. Meanwhile, Katie Ledecky, a seven-time Olympic gold medalist from America, is scheduled to participate in the women's 400m freestyle event, along with Australia's Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus and rising star Summer McIntosh from Canada.

Team Great Britain will have the chance to win more medals on Saturday in road cycling, with Anna Henderson and Josh Tarling participating in the individual time trial event. Additionally, the final round of men's street skateboarding will occur in the evening.

The final match for the gold medal in rugby sevens will happen later in the day. We do not know yet who will be competing, but in the morning there will be semi-final matches between South Africa and France, and Fiji and Australia. On Saturday, the fencing events will also be taking place, including the women's individual epee and men's individual sabre gold medal matches. Unfortunately, Team GB will not be participating, which means their 68-year wait for a fencing gold medal will continue.

The football group stage games will carry on, and if France wins against Guinea, they will secure a spot in the next round. Spain also has a chance to move forward if they win against the Dominican Republic. Argentina will try to bounce back from their controversial loss to Morocco by defeating Iraq. Manager Javier Mascherano called the chaotic delay caused by fans invading the pitch a "scandal".
