A 13-year-old boy passed away at a residence on Lovett Avenue in Oldbury on Thursday afternoon. His name has not been released.

There have been no arrests so far, but the Sandwell police commander mentioned that they are actively pursuing leads to locate the suspect.

Chief Superintendent Kim Madill from West Midlands Police made a statement outside West Bromwich Police Station on Friday afternoon, asking for the public's help with their ongoing investigation.

"It's a very heartbreaking and unfortunate situation where a young boy has passed away," she stated. "The main focus right now is on supporting and comforting the family and friends during this difficult time."

"We are aware that the event occurred within his residence, and I encourage anyone with knowledge to speak up."

Many bouquets of flowers, candles, and stuffed animals were left at the semi-detached house where the Police were summoned to Lovette Avenue in Oldbury around 4pm on Thursday. A young boy was receiving medical treatment from paramedics at the time.

A police officer is standing at the barrier, placing the tributes in front of the house.

Even though the paramedics tried their hardest on Thursday afternoon, the teenager unfortunately did not make it.
