OJ Simpson

The Rise and Fall of OJ Simpson

OJ Simpson is a former football star and actor who became a household name in the 1970s and 1980s. He had a successful career as a running back for the Buffalo Bills and later, as a commentator for football games. Simpson also garnered attention for his acting roles in movies like The Naked Gun trilogy. However, his life took a drastic turn in 1994 when he was accused of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.

The Trial of the Century

Simpson's trial attracted a lot of media attention and became known as the "trial of the century." The evidence against Simpson was strong, but the defense team's strategy was to cast doubt on the prosecution's case and suggest other suspects. The trial lasted for almost a year and ended with Simpson's acquittal. However, despite being found not guilty in a criminal trial, Simpson was later found liable for the deaths in a civil case and was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to Goldman's family and Brown Simpson's estate. The OJ Simpson case remains one of the most famous trials in American history.
