Oasis fans affected by ticket sales debacle invited to join second ballot

Oasis ballot

A limited group of Oasis enthusiasts who were unable to secure tickets for the band's highly anticipated reunion shows during the chaotic ticket sale last week, now have a chance to enter a new draw and potentially win tickets.

The group mentioned they will be sending invites to fans who fit their criteria, which may include those who tried to purchase tickets on the Ticketmaster site last weekend but experienced difficulties during the process.

Some fans were happy to get a special email invitation to buy tickets, while others were really mad because they spent a long time waiting online but still didn't get any tickets.

One supporter, Brad Haines, aged 29, shared with the PA news agency: "I'm pleased that I was able to enter the drawing, since I know not everyone has had the chance to do so."

I will wait and see how things unfold. I am optimistic, but I am not getting my hopes too high since I missed out the first time. I will be satisfied if I am chosen as one of the fortunate individuals.

Haines, who lives in Wales, mentioned that he got the email at 3 in the morning, registered around 8, and got confirmation about two hours later.

Some fans who spent a lot of time last Saturday were not as fortunate and did not receive an invitation to the latest ballot.

Stuart Knight was upset that he didn't get chosen in the ticket lottery after waiting in line for hours when tickets became available.

The 39-year-old, who works as an account manager in Hampshire, expressed his dismay, especially since he never believed they would go on tour again. He mentioned that "(What's the Story) Morning Glory" was the second album he purchased.

"When I found out that there would be a special lottery for people who logged into Ticketmaster and joined the waiting list, I was excited to have another chance. But unfortunately, I didn't receive an invitation to the lottery even though I met all the requirements."

It's really frustrating that a friend waited in line for an hour but ended up giving up, and still managed to get an invitation.

Ticketmaster responded to fans on X, stating: "Oasis has sent emails to all qualified fans with instructions for registration - if you did not get this email, you do not meet the requirements."

A message sharing information about the private vote mentioned: "Invitations to participate in the private vote will be sent out later today (Saturday) to eligible fans that we have been able to identify."

If you logged into your Ticketmaster UK account on Saturday 31 August and waited in line for a particular event but did not secure a ticket, you might qualify to participate in a ballot. Look out for an email with instructions on how to sign up.

Make sure to regularly look in the email linked to your Ticketmaster account and remember to also check your spam folder.

Fans are finding hope as the European Commission and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) begin examining Ticketmaster’s management of the situation, following reports of ticket prices substantially increasing at checkout due to "dynamic pricing". Ticketmaster claims that the prices are determined by the artists and their management teams.

After almost a whole week without saying anything, Liam Gallagher finally reacted on Friday to the ticket sale mess. He responded to a user on X who criticized the band for taking advantage of fans by telling them to be quiet.
