The top-ranked tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, suffered a surprising loss to Luca Nardi, a 20-year-old lucky loser, during the third round of the Indian Wells tournament.

The player from Italy had a world ranking of 123 and wasn't able to make it past the qualifying rounds. However, due to another player dropping out, they got a chance to participate in the main draw.

Nardi performed admirably, striking 34 excellent shots to triumph over the 24-time Grand Slam titleholder with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. He was overcome with emotion and fell to the ground, covering his face with his hands in disbelief, upon serving up a final ace to secure his victory.

Djokovic hasn't been able to win any competitions this year and had a problem with one of the umpire's decisions during the game.

The people from Serbia thought that Nardi halted the game while playing a point and were requesting the umpire to declare a hindrance.

Nardi paused abruptly and hit the ball with a delay, assuming it would bounce out of bounds. However, it landed within the court boundaries, and Djokovic became distracted by his competitor's unconventional move, causing him to miss a couple of shots after that.

Djokovic expressed confusion when he uttered, "I'm not sure what you mean by that. The point doesn't automatically end just because he stopped, right?"

He said: "Did you see how he reacted? He suddenly came to a halt, completely stopping in his tracks. It was very bewildering for me, as I also stopped moving."

"Is it possible for you to withhold your judgement? Are you deceiving me or telling the truth?"

The umpire responded in a composed manner by saying that halting the game at that point is not considered a hindrance.

I see where you're coming from, but I don't think that's a valid reason. To me, it's not enough to justify him losing the point.

"If he had explicitly told me to stop or gestured towards me to end my action, then I would fully support your argument. However, as he didn't make any effort to intervene, the point continued."

Nardi managed to defeat Djokovic at the ATP Masters 1,000 or Grand Slam level, even though he was the lowest-ranked player. Nardi expressed his disbelief at the feat by stating that it was "crazy".

Djokovic commented, "I haven't won any titles this year. This is not a usual experience for me."

At the commencement of most of my career seasons, I would snatch a win in either a Grand Slam or Dubai. The outcome is acceptable as it is a common occurrence in sports. One has to learn to acknowledge that victories and losses come hand in hand.

I hope to win additional matches and continue competing. Each victory and trophy I receive is significant to me and will help me overcome the slump I've been experiencing in the past few tournaments, where I haven't been performing at my peak level.
