Pete Lansley was present at the City Ground to witness it.
During an interview with Sky Sports, Ola Aina expressed his satisfaction and excitement after his team's major victory. Although they were disappointed in their previous game, they were able to put up a good fight and come out with a victory. Aina was particularly happy about the goal he scored, as it was quite memorable for him. Additionally, he was glad to have assisted his team in winning the game. They all worked together and stuck to their game plan, which ultimately helped them succeed. Everyone involved can be proud of their hard work and determination in this win.
Vlachodimos also shared his thoughts, saying, "The atmosphere was incredible. Winning the game definitely lightened the mood and boosted morale. We will continue to move forward."
According to Kári Tulinius, Villa's performance was quite lackluster. Normally, teams coached by Emery are known to always bring a high level of intensity, sometimes causing them to falter, but it appears as though Villa began the game with the assumption that they had already secured a victory.
Once upon a time, there were two goalkeepers. Emiliano Martínez didn't perform well and let in two goals from far away, and the second goal was particularly terrible because of his mistake. In contrast, Odisseas Vlachodimos almost lived up to his name as a hero. He looked very strong during the game and the defense in front of him appeared to be well-coordinated.
Justin Kavanagh has reached out and shared some interesting news with me. It seems that Paul McCartney is currently playing with a group from Hackney called the Rolling Stones. One member of the band, who sang at Queen Elizabeth's coronation in a high range, has since switched to a lower register and has expressed frustration towards his bandmate for accepting a knighthood.
Steve Cooper is doing an amazing job. The flyers of Unai Emery were defeated due to a well-planned strategy and excellent defense by Forest. They will be facing West Ham in the upcoming week while Villa, who were below par and didn't show their true form, will play against Fulham next week.
At the 90+5 minute mark, the free-kick was a huge disappointment. Elanga nearly broke free, but his actual intention was to aim for the corner flag rather than the goal.
With just four minutes left in the game, Villa has been awarded a free-kick due to an Elanga foul. However, it seems highly unlikely for them to achieve anything more than a consolation goal at this point.
In the 92nd minute, Tielemans and Niakhate had a collision, which resulted in the Forest defender falling. After Niakhate regained his footing, they shared some unfriendly words.
The match has reached the 90-minute mark and the referee has added six minutes of extra time. Villa seems to be losing the game. Unai Emery, the coach of the opposing team, appears less lively than usual. He seems to be aware of the situation.
In 89 minutes of the game, Bailey carries the ball amidst sarcastic cheers from the crowd. Afterwards, it appears that Elanga may have a clear path to the goal, but unfortunately, he gets tackled.
In the 88th minute of the game, Danilo was caught offside which was quite a surprise. In addition to that, he received a yellow card for kicking the ball away intentionally to waste time.
After 87 minutes of play, there were some substitutions made. Dominguez and Aina left the field making way for Yates and Williams for Forest. Dendoncker replaced Douglas Luiz for Villa, and it seemed like Luiz was happy to leave the game.
In the 86th minute, Diaby takes his time deciding what to do with the ball that's being directed towards him. Unfortunately, he cannot locate a fellow player to pass it to.
After 85 minutes of play, Murillo showed some skill in handling the ball, but he made a wise decision by forcefully kicking it out of the defensive area.
84 minutes into the game, Douglas Luiz, who has been performing well this season, was stopped and pursued by the opposing team. As a result, his team lost the ball. Gibbs-White almost made a pass to Danilo, but the referee waved offside.
After a six-match absence, Danilo has returned to the Forest squad, replacing Awoniyi for the last 82 minutes of the game. The Forest team has undergone some changes.
After 80 minutes of play, Forest has committed another offside, and this one involves Gibbs-White.
After playing for 79 minutes, Aston Villa decided to make a substitution. Kamara was replaced by Diego Carlos. Meanwhile, Murillo headed behind as Tielemans was shooting. Not long after, Luiz took a disappointing corner. Even though the game had progressed quite a bit, Aston Villa still seemed to be dominating the match.
After 78 minutes into the game, Villa failed to score again. Digne got hold of the ball and attempted a shot but unfortunately, he missed the target as the ball went over the goalpost.
In 77 minutes of the game, Bailey leaped to hit the ball away with his head, just a short while after Luiz got knocked down by Morgan Gibbs-White.
In just 76 minutes, Vlachodimos took a hit and fell down. Was it because of Sangare's flying tackle on Digne? Apparently, VAR doesn't think so. After a while, the goalkeeper recovers and is fit enough to keep playing.
After 74 minutes of play, it appears that Forest supporters are chanting "Ingerlund Ingerlund Ingerlund". It's unclear if they are aware that the coach, Steve Cooper, is actually Welsh.
After 72 minutes, Robbie Robinson contacted us to suggest that joining a local choir as a soprano can be costly. However, becoming a castrati would only require a small fee.
According to Michelle Brooks in Adelaide, Paul McCartney can be found performing in Australia. His concerts are being held at unusual places that are easier to reach for people who live outside of Sydney or Melbourne, compared to Taylor Swift's shows.
After 71 minutes of play, there was a substitution made for the team. Toffolo came in to replace Aurier who had been performing consistently rather than his usual disorganized self for Tottenham in the game played in the eastern region of Midlands.
In about 70 minutes of playtime, it appears that Diaby and Bailey are both positioned in a similar area on the right side. When the ball is passed out, Tielemans moves forward and kicks it off target.
After 68 minutes of play, Diaby received the ball near the edge of the box. He turned and took a shot, but Vlachodimos made an impressive save. This must have been frustrating for Matt Turner to watch. Afterwards, Bailey attempted a header but unfortunately missed, making it another unlucky moment for Villa.
In the 66th minute of the game, Digne and McGinn made a connection but Aina, once again, prevented them from scoring before Niakhate cleared the ball. Villa has been dominating the game so far, but Forest is ready to strike back at any opportunity.
After 65 minutes of play, Kamara received a yellow card for bringing down Elanga. It was a justified call as the ball was still in play.
In the sixty-third minute of the game, Pau Torres tried to pass the ball to Digne, but Aina was already blocking his way. However, Torres managed to do a clever turn that confused Awoniyi.
After 62 minutes, the Forest team became more compact. They are all occupying two-fifths of the field. There are many blocks and tackles being executed by the Forest team.
After playing for an hour, Matty Cash was substituted. He received a decent round of applause from his previous team's supporters. Then, Youri Tielemans took his place on the pitch. Unfortunately, the Leicester player was greeted with the label "Leicester reject".
After 59 minutes of play, all Villa players except Martinez are pushed into Forest's half, creating a congested area similar to the busy M1 during rush hour. However, Villa manages to locate some space, and Leon Bailey has an opportunity to score. Unfortunately, he ends up kicking the ball high and wide, leading to a disappointing outcome.
In 56 minutes of the game, Forest attempted to breakaway using a counter-attacking strategy. However, Villa played with a risky defense tactic and were able to catch Forest offside multiple times while still in their own defensive half.
After 55 minutes, Watkins had an excellent opportunity to score a goal. Digne passed the ball in swiftly from the left, but unfortunately, he missed. This was not the anticipated result.
After 53 minutes of match time, McGinn successfully gains a corner. Luiz will be the one taking the corner, and Watkins manages to flick the ball over. Niakhate has truly excelled in the Forest defence and has been doing a great job.
After 51 minutes of play, Unai Emery seems to have detected a foul odor. His team has been negatively impacted by Forest's physical strength.
In the 50th minute, Dominguez attempted a shot that was stopped by Martinez's strong hand. On the other side of the field, Mangala accidentally kicked Watkins in a sensitive spot, causing him to have a very high-pitched voice. It's possible that Watkins could join a local choir that specializes in soprano vocals.
The point was achieved during the exact moment of the 47th minute, in which supporters of Forest paid tribute to Adam Johnson, known as the Nottingham Panther, who passed away in a tragic incident the previous week. Nevertheless, the involvement of VAR was once again poorly timed.
Nottingham Triumphs Over Aston Villa: 2-0
Wow, Martinez made a big mistake by trying to block Mangala's shot with just one hand from outside of the box. However, the real question is whether Toffolo was offside when passing the ball to Mangala. Despite this, the goal was still counted.
In 46 minutes, Leon Bailey comes onto the field for Villa, replacing Nicola Zaniolo. They play the song "Mull of Kintyre," and it makes you wonder what Paul McCartney is up to these days. The Villa team comes out strong, and Watkins takes a shot that misses the goal.
Joe Pearson has returned and provided an update on the weather, informing us that the sun has made an appearance. He also mentioned that he spent time searching for information on Vlachodimos while listening to Chaka Demus and Pliers. Joe appears to be puzzled as to why the changing of goalkeepers is considered a significant issue. He believes that all players are substituted regularly, so it shouldn't be such a big deal. Joe thinks that it's just creating unnecessary fuss.

Jeremy Boyce has reached out with his thoughts on VAR and the current issues surrounding its performance. He is currently in a windy and wet area in the south of France. He suggests implementing a cricket-style system where teams are given a maximum number of reviews they can request, and after that, the referee's decision stands. Jeremy prefers the days when the referee's decision was final, despite any potential mistakes that may have been made. He has witnessed many instances in cricket where VAR confirms the umpire's initial decision, which is impressive given the high-speed nature of the sport. He shares a quote from a friend who completed a 3-month umpiring course: "At the end of the day, you can only give what you see," which he believes holds true.
Nottingham Forest Lead Aston Villa 1-0 At Half-time
The first half of the game has been quite amusing so far. Unai Emery, who is known for his strategic skills, has been thwarted by Steve Cooper's well-structured team. Additionally, Forest had a couple of opportunities to score more than one goal. Although Villa's performance wasn't terrible, they were unable to meet their usual standards due to the opposition's tactics.
In the 47th minute of the game, Villa makes a claim for a penalty. Murillo is suspected of having handled the ball, and there is now a review by VAR. Meanwhile, Villa continues passing the ball around. As play continues, the ball eventually goes out of bounds. Despite Villa's hopes of being awarded a penalty, it seems that Toffolo is also being accused, but upon closer inspection, it appears that the ball struck his chest. The half comes to a close at this point.
In the 46th minute of the match, Forest was hoping for a penalty when Awoniyi was knocked down. The referee, Gillet, initially wanted to give the penalty but his assistants intervened, citing an offside call. The decision was ultimately correct, but it was such a close call that it begs the question of how often referees have to make such difficult judgments.
In the past 45 minutes, Digne has been attempting to make overlapping runs, but has continuously been met with resistance and pushed back by the Forest defenders. Their defence has been incredibly strong and well-structured. The ball was recently passed to Watkins, but unfortunately, his attempts to get past Niakhate were unsuccessful.
After 43 minutes of playing, Zaniolo managed to force a corner for Villa. Despite being busy on the field, Zaniolo hasn't been too effective. As for the corner, it didn't offer much change. Villa seems to be struggling and longing for the familiarity of their home field.
After 41 minutes of play, Diaby committed a foul against Sangare, causing the game to become more stop-and-go with frequent pauses.
After 39 minutes of play, Aina made a successful forward run and managed to outplay both Zanilolo and Dominguez. Just like in the first minute of the game, Dominguez was unable to block Aina's shot, which ultimately flew towards the River Trent.
After 38 minutes, there was a corner for Villa. Vlachodimos impressed with his goalkeeping skills by punching clear under pressure. It's safe to say there was no Greek tragedy at that moment.
In 35 minutes, Gibbs-White and Elanga headed down the left side of the field while Toffolo seemed hesitant and ultimately lost control of the ball. Villa quickly capitalized on the opportunity and rapidly advanced forward. Watkins ultimately bested Murillo and Diaby swiftly maneuvered the ball over to Zaniolo, who took the shot, but Vlachodimos made an excellent save with his knees.
In the 34th minute, Aina successfully clears a ball from Diaby with her head. Villa seems to be in control of the game at the moment, but Forest is putting up a good and resilient defense.
After 32 minutes of play, Niakhate made a powerful long throw that resembled a throw by Challinor. The Villa area experienced a momentary state of confusion and worry.
In half an hour of the game, Lucas Digne has been Villa's most powerful attacker. Zaniolo made an error after receiving a passable but demanding opportunity from Digne's cross. Diaby also missed the target while attempting a lob after being guided by Luiz. Unai Emery, the coach, is exceptionally animated, more than usual. Matty Cash, the defender, is being criticized for not contributing to the attacking moves.
