Noddy Holder

Noddy Holder appeared to be in high spirits as he was seen out and about in Manchester on Thursday with his wife, Suzan Price, despite facing health challenges.

The 78-year-old musician was spotted exiting the BBC Breakfast studios, having been told five years ago that he only had six months to live due to his struggle with throat cancer.

He received his initial diagnosis of the illness five years back but chose to keep it private until he revealed it in October of last year.

He received a revolutionary type of chemotherapy at a hospital in Manchester that has contributed to his survival.

The frontman of the rock band Slade made an appearance wearing a charcoal coat, a red scarf, and unique shoes, while Suzan showcased her fashion sense in a leopard print faux fur coat.

Earlier this week, he provided a new update on his health, sharing that doctors are still monitoring him five years after his diagnosis.

Noddy Holder appeared to be in high spirits while he was out in Manchester on Thursday with his wife, Suzan Price, despite the health challenges he's been facing.

The 78-year-old musician was spotted leaving the BBC Breakfast studios. This comes five years after he was told he had only six months to live due to his struggle with throat cancer.

He shared with Sky News, "I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer five years ago, and they continue to monitor my health."

I'm currently in a fair situation after being given just six months to live when I was diagnosed.

"I've made it through to the end, so to speak."

In December, he provided another update while speaking on Radio 2.

Noddy shared back then: "It was a real struggle. I ended up losing all my hair and my weight dropped to around eight stone. But I guess there's a silver lining to everything."

I had a scan last week, and everything looks stable right now. I just hope it stays that way.

He playfully remarked, "I’m in great shape, really fit… but I’m not good for anything!"

In October, his wife Suzan Price, 57, shared the story of Noddy's hidden health struggle in a heartfelt article for Great British Life.

Suzan shared: "Five years back, we received the heartbreaking news that he had esophageal cancer and was expected to live only six more months."

The frontman of the rock band Slade emerged wearing a charcoal coat, a bright red scarf, and some unique shoes, while Suzan showcased her fashion sense in a leopard-print fur coat.

Slade's most popular song was "Merry Christmas Everybody," released in 1973. Its catchy chorus features the lines: "So here it is, Merry Christmas/Everyone's enjoying themselves." (Noddy is pictured in 1972)

We shared the news only with our closest family and friends, and I won’t apologize to those who weren’t in the loop. My only apologies are for those who had to endure the pain and distress alongside us while we tried to find our way through this frightening new reality.

Suzan tied the knot with Noddy in 2004, and together they welcomed a son named Django. Prior to this, Noddy was married to fashion designer Leandra Russell in 1976, with whom he had two daughters, Jessica and Charisse. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1984.

Suzan mentioned back then that the Merry Xmas Everybody singer has been able to maintain an optimistic attitude despite his health challenges.

He received care at The Christie Hospital in Manchester and experienced an innovative type of chemotherapy that has contributed to his survival.

In October of last year, his wife Suzan, who is 57, shared an emotional account of Noddy's hidden health struggles in an article for Great British Life.

Suzan remarked, "There were no promises and no way to be sure if it would make any difference, much less work wonders, but he reacted positively. Those who have faced a cancer diagnosis understand that doctors are hesitant to say the word 'cure', yet here we are five years later, and he’s doing well and looks fantastic."

Throughout their 25-year career, Slade achieved six singles that reached the Number One spot on the UK charts.

Their most popular song was "Merry Christmas Everybody," released in 1973, featuring the catchy chorus: "So here it is, Merry Christmas/Everyone's enjoying themselves."

It's said that the song generates £500,000 in royalties every year.
