Have no evidence; Nivin Pauly, group seized my phone in Dubai: Complainant
In Kochi, a woman has made accusations against producer AK Sunil, who is from Thrissur, and a group that included actor Nivin Pauly. She claims that they kept her locked in a room for three days and sexually abused her. The woman says they did not give her any food or water, and when they did, the water was mixed with drugs. They also allegedly threatened to harm her husband and son. She mentioned that Nivin Pauly and his group forcefully took her phone, which is why Nivin argues that there is no proof of the abuse.
The police at the Oonnukal Police Station have started a case after a woman claimed she was mistreated in Dubai. The case has been moved to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is looking into the details revealed in the Hema Committee report. Nivin Pauly is one of the suspects in the case, along with five others including Shreya from Kottayam, producer AK Sunil, and residents of Ernakulam named Binu, Basheer, and Kuttan.
The woman shared her story of meeting a group in Dubai who promised to take her to Europe after taking Rs 3 lakh from her. When she asked for her money back, they delayed giving it to her. Later, they introduced her to producer AK Sunil, who they claimed could offer her a role in a movie. However, when she went to a hotel for an interview, she was physically assaulted. When Sunil's family learned of the incident, they introduced her to others, referring to them as his associates. She was then confined in a room for three days without food or water, only being provided with water that was laced with drugs. Additionally, she was threatened with harm to her husband and son. The woman mentioned that Nivin Pauly and his associates forcefully took her phone, which is why they argue there is no evidence against them.
The messages on my phone showed proof of the threats from the film crew. I was by myself, while they were a team. I had to deal with the mistreatment because I wouldn't join their group. Many other girls have been caught in similar situations. I brought up the mistreatment in my initial report and gave my account to the CI. Sunil and his team embarrassed me on social media by sharing pictures and calling me and my partner a 'honeytrap couple.' I also reported that. The authorities stated there was no proof for the incidents in Dubai. The events took place in November and December 2023, and I came back from Dubai on December 17. Despite the threats of being targeted by thugs, I will keep moving forward with my report," she stated.
Nivin Pauly has rejected the accusations, describing them as "complete lies" and insisting that he has never crossed paths with or communicated with the woman. "These types of claims keep surfacing time and again. It's time for this to stop. I am speaking up not just for myself, but for everyone in the movie industry. Since I have no one else to defend me, I am speaking directly to the press. I am sure that I am innocent. I don't even recognize the people named in connection with me in the accusations," Nivin stated.
