Ex-Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw and his 81-year-old mother were given drugs and then stolen from at their vacation home in Ibiza recently. The famous Gogglebox personality had booked a fancy villa on the popular island to mark his 40th birthday with loved ones and his soon-to-be spouse.

There is a belief that the gang, who have targeted the island before, are now carrying out raids by using sedative gas to incapacitate residents before breaking into homes while wearing hazmat suits.

The criminals did not attack the TV personality directly, but instead focused on the villa, which is known to attract wealthy guests.

According to a report, there have been several attacks on fancy villas in Ibiza this summer. Unfortunately, Nick's villa was targeted because it is popular among rich clients.

The group probably didn't know his identity. Unfortunately, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's really frightening, to say the least.

Nick was clearly unhappy but decided that it was better to avoid posting about it on social media. In the end, the vacation was supposed to be a quiet and private time with his family.

There is a belief that both he and his family escaped physical harm in the attack and that he has since returned to his residence in London.

Nick was seen in Ibiza recently with his niece Liv, who appeared with him on Celebrity Gogglebox, and his fiancée Mesh Henry enjoying some ice cream.

He became well-known in 2012 when he started hosting the Radio 1 breakfast show, taking over from radio experienced Chris Moyles. He also acted as a judge on the X Factor for one season in 2015.

In 2021, he left his job at BBC Radio 1 after being there for 14 years. His regular time slot on the radio station was taken over by a new show hosted by Vick Hope and Jordan North.

Different famous people have said they were robbed using gas in the past. For example, Richard Hammond, who used to host Top Gear, and his wife Mindy reported being gassed while they were sleeping in their villa in St Tropez in 2018.
