Both Apple and Google are known to have strict control over their app stores and have not exactly been forthcoming towards NFTs or cryptocurrencies. However, this stance has taken a turn with the introduction of the Web3 mobile game NFL Rivals by Mythical Games and the National Football League.

As per CoinDesk, the game centered around football and available for free download has reached an impressive 1 million downloads. In April, Fortune stated that players have the option to purchase packs featuring real-life NFL players that can be used within the game or traded due to blockchain technology.

Many say that gaming is the future of blockchain, but Mythical Games is truly taking action. While download numbers are crucial, CEO John Linden emphasized that he's more focused on the game's rating of 4.8 stars out of 5 on Apple's App Store. This indicates that the game is enjoyable and keeps players hooked.

According to Linden, NFTs and the blockchain play a crucial role in the game, but this information is not advertised anywhere, as he revealed to Fortune in April. Based on his estimation, only about 10% of the players are actively participating in the game's market to exchange NFT player packs.

I reckon that less than 50% of people have knowledge about NFTs, blockchain, or cryptocurrency, and possibly it has been advantageous.

Is Eminem's Ape Sold?

A message on Twitter was seen by 2 million people and received many likes, suggesting that the musician known as Eminem, whose true identity is Marshall Mathers III, had gotten rid of his Bored Ape. This false information quickly spread throughout the crypto community on Twitter, causing many individuals to believe that NFTs were doomed.

As it happened, the NFT didn't actually belong to Eminem. Despite bearing a striking resemblance—sporting the same hat and jacket—Eminem's real Bored Ape, known as BAYC #9055, hasn't been on the market for over a year. The rapper had acquired this particular Bored Ape in 2020 for roughly 123.45 Ether, which was close to $500,000 back then. Fast forward to now, the most attractive bid for the Bored Ape on OpenSea was approximately 36 Ether, which is approximately $70,000.
