'Scrambling' Newcastle Falcons 'need to work out how to win games’ - Rory Lawson - Eurosport

Newcastle

According to Rory Lawson, a TNT Sports commentator, things are looking up for Newcastle now that they have a new head coach, Alex Codling. However, the club needs to figure out how to start winning games since they've lost their first three Gallagher Premiership matches.

Codling became a member of the team during the summer season. He previously aided Oyonnax, a French club, in winning the Pro D2 regular season by a 24-point margin and securing a promotion into the Top 14. However, he has not yet experienced victory in the Premiership.

Lawson complimented the "atmosphere" that Codling has established at his previous team. However, he pointed out the urgency for them to achieve victory soon in order to experience a sense of competitiveness, given that they are currently placed last in the standings.

According to Lawson who was speaking on TNT Sports, he stated that the coach is supporting the young players. The coach will arrive tomorrow morning to analyze the game and will attempt to identify the positive aspects.

As far as I can gather, he has established a culture of education in Newcastle. This means that the players are actively involved in this learning process.

The team will pick up new skills quickly. The Argentinian team is inexperienced and young, and they are expected to improve and perform better. However, the team needs to figure out how to secure victories because that is currently the area they are lacking in.

The team can benefit greatly from encouraging words and a shared mindset. This can help create a positive atmosphere and a sense of unity among the members. However, in order to truly succeed and be a force in the league, the team must also focus on earning victories and maintaining a competitive edge.

They were defeated by a narrow margin of two points. Is it possible that they could have emerged victorious? Absolutely, they had the potential to win. However, the outcome was not in their favor as they ultimately did not secure a win.

Thus, they achieved a losing bonus point, however, they are now in a difficult situation and must search for a solution within the following weeks.

In an interview with TNT Sports after the match, Codling expressed disappointment about the chances that his team failed to convert, but commended his players for their hard work despite the harsh weather conditions.

Certainly, I feel disappointed on one side, but at the same time, incredibly proud,” stated Codling. “The determination and ability to bounce back showcased by the team was truly remarkable today.

I'd like to send my congratulations to Northampton, they were very efficient - they took advantage of their opportunity and scored, and that's how they became the Premiership champions. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on our side this time, but that's just how life goes sometimes.

The game had many good aspects to it. Although we did have some missed chances, we are a young team that is still learning. We do not have the same experience as some of the other teams in the Premiership, but this does not discourage me from taking on challenges.

"We are progressing as a team and we plan to cherish every small moment. Our first opportunity to do so will be at Quins next week."
