This year, the league decided to change things up and split the draft into two days instead of going late into the night. The first round was held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, while the second round took place at ESPN's Seaport District studios in Manhattan.

Ten players and their families came to watch the show. They sat in a separate room next to where the TV show was being recorded. However, two players, Kyle Filipowski from Duke and Johnny Furphy from Kansas, were not seen in the second round as they were left backstage in the green room.

Filipowski was ultimately chosen as the 32nd pick by Utah in the second round of the draft.

Bronny James was not expected to be there. The son of basketball legend LeBron James was hoping to be selected in the second round.
