Laurence Fox under police investigation over 'upskirting' photo of Narinder Kaur
A very embarrassing photo that was shared on social media has left TV presenter Narinder Kaur feeling extremely ashamed and distressed.
Laurence Fox is under investigation for allegedly committing an "upskirting offense" following the emergence of a sexually explicit photo of a female TV host on social media.
On Tuesday, a tweet was published but then removed, which contained a picture of Narinder Kaur. Narinder is a previous participant of the reality TV show Big Brother and also works as a broadcaster, frequently featuring on both Good Morning Britain and GB News.
Ms Kaur complained multiple times about the extremely embarrassing paparazzi photo that was spread without her permission, yet the blog post was not taken down until Thursday.
She expressed her feeling of shame and humiliation despite others telling her not to feel that way. It deeply distresses her that her intimate areas are being observed and ridiculed by people.
Former actor and now politician, Mr. Fox, who is in charge of the Reclaim Party, recently uploaded a picture on social media along with a message that read, "We must uphold the ethical standards in the public sphere." His post included a complaint about Ms. Kaur's views about her colleague, Leilani Dowding, who also happens to be a UK TV presenter.
As soon as Mr. Fox's actions were revealed, other users of various social media platforms began to criticize him. Esteemed presenter Esther Krakue was one of the many individuals who condemned his behavior, labeling it as "shameful."
However, Mr Fox stuck to his statement and responded by saying: "She's an unpleasant person who shows racial discrimination and has made fun of Leilani Dowding for her modeling work. She can play the role of the victim as much as she wants. It's not my responsibility that she didn't remember to wear underwear."
The Metropolitan Police claimed that they had been informed about a social media post about an upskirting crime and were in the process of probing the situation.
The disturbing act of taking pictures of people under their clothing without their consent, otherwise known as upskirting, is now considered a punishable crime in England and Wales as of 2019. The legal system has implemented The Voyeurism (Offences) Act to hold those responsible accountable for their actions, which could result in a prison sentence of up to two years or placement on the sex offenders register.
One of Ms Kaur's acquaintances informed the Mirror that she has always been forthright in expressing her concerns, and despite having faced severe criticism in the past, she never anticipated being subjected to such callous and malicious assaults.
The friend mentioned, "Narinder should receive something better than this. She has put in a lot of effort to express her opinions in a world that predominantly favors males and holds increasingly conservative views. The recent setback has been a severe blow to her morale. Nevertheless, she is resolute in her determination to regain her self-respect, even if it may appear to be a challenging task."
The police are conducting an investigation one week after Mr. Fox was told by the High Court to give £180,000 in compensation to two individuals whom he labeled as "paedophiles" during an argument on social media.
Simon Blake, a past trustee of Stonewall, along with Crystal, who previously participated in RuPaul's Drag Race, triumphantly filed a lawsuit against Mr Fox.
Earlier reports disclosed that he was dismissed from his job as a broadcaster at GB News in October of last year due to a heated outburst on live television directed at journalist Ava Evans.
Mr Fox was reached out to for his opinion.
