In a tweet that raised eyebrows, Kaur criticized Kate’s look at the Royal Remembrance Day event and implied that she might smoke. This statement has led to a wave of anger and censure from the public.
The response was quick and harsh, as numerous people condemned the thoughtlessness of the statement, particularly in light of Kate's recent battles with cancer. Kaur has now issued an apology, recognizing that her comment was unsuitable and could have caused distress.
Narinder Kaur's 'Kate Middleton' Comment Sparks Outrage
Earlier this year, the Princess of Wales and her family found themselves at the center of conspiracy theories when Kate unexpectedly disappeared from public view, a situation she later explained by disclosing her cancer diagnosis. Recently, these theories came back into the spotlight after she attended her first official event following her chemotherapy treatment. Narinder Kaur, known for her appearances on Big Brother and Good Morning Britain, took to X/Twitter to raise a question about whether the Princess of Wales smokes, suggesting that could account for her being perceived as "aged" during the Remembrance Sunday service.

"Honestly, I’m curious—why does Kate look so different? Isn’t she just 42? Does she smoke? That seems like the only reason,” the 51-year-old television personality commented. This remark quickly drew a wave of backlash, with numerous people condemning it as a "shameful" attack on the Princess.
In reply, Kaur tried to explain her motives by stating, “Alright. Looks like my message was misunderstood. I was sincerely asking. My brother underwent chemotherapy. He didn’t grow old. He passed away. I apologize if what I said was hurtful or simply out of line. I admit I was wrong. I’m sorry,” before removing her initial tweet. One user reacted, “That’s really disappointing, Narinder. I didn’t anticipate this.” Another commented, “Life is challenging, and we may not all see eye to eye, but that was unacceptable.”
Narinder Kaur Faces Racist Attacks Online
Following a tweet where she criticized Kate Middleton's looks, Kaur was met with a wave of online harassment. In reaction, she turned to X/Twitter to discuss the negative responses. In her video, she expressed her anger about the "sexual, racist, and violent" remarks directed at her, highlighting one particularly disgusting comment that wished for her to “get cancer.”

Kaur later expressed remorse for her earlier tweet, recognizing it was thoughtless. She clarified that she didn't mean to harm anyone and apologized for any hurt feelings, although she also denounced the racist attacks directed at her. “I figured a short video would be better than sending out multiple tweets, as that can get pretty absurd – as if it wasn’t already enough. I posted something foolish. That wasn’t what I meant to do; I never intended to be cruel or mean,” she shared.
In a subsequent post, Kaur highlighted that although numerous individuals shared concerns about Kate's looks, she, as a brown Indian woman, became the target of a significant amount of online hatred. She expressed, "I simply made a remark about aging, and out of nowhere, a wave of racists attacked me as if I had done something terrible. It was clear you weren't genuinely worried about Kate or her well-being; you were just upset that I, a brown Indian woman, dared to pose an innocent question about aging. And it drove you crazy."
"People don't focus on your race. You posed a foolish question about a woman who has just completed chemotherapy, and that's all there is to it. Your remark seemed thoughtless and lacking awareness. It felt like a deliberate attempt to provoke anger and portray yourself as a victim," a commenter pointed out. "It's not about your skin color; it's about your lack of common sense," added another.
