Napoli President Bans Osimhen, Teammates From Speaking With Popular Italian Media Outfit

Napoli

The Napoli boss, Aurelio De Laurentiis, made a statement on Sunday evening saying that Victor and his crew, alongside the staff, will not be giving any pre or post-match interviews with DAZN anymore.

De Laurentiis made a brief appearance at the Stadio Maradona media room on Sunday evening after Napoli's victory against Juventus.

Multiple Italian news outlets, such as Il Corriere dello Sport, stated that De Laurentiis appeared agitated and declared that Napoli's players would not grant interviews to DAZN moving forward.

According to Football Italia, the president was quoted as saying that they are finished with DAZN and will only communicate with Sky and Rai.

De Laurentiis was extremely angry prior to the start of the match when he was captured on film in the tunnel.

Nonetheless, as suggested by Marco Azzi, a journalist from La Repubblica, this is not the reason why De Laurentiis has decided to prohibit players from communicating with DAZN.

Azzi posted on platform X stating that De Laurentiis is extremely angry at the Italian TV channels for organizing a match between Napoli and Atalanta on March 30th at 11:30 pm. This game was scheduled just one day before Easter, adding to his frustration.

Reportedly, as per Tuttosport, the match is scheduled for March 30 due to Atalanta's participation in the Europa League, even though the individual had requested it to be played on April 1.

Coach Francesco Calzona will be occupied with the Slovakian national team during the international break. The plan is for him to have more time to ready himself for the match.

DAZN televises all ten matches of Serie A every weekend, and they've recently secured the domestic TV broadcasting rights for Serie A until 2029.
