Mudryk’s move to Stamford Bridge has now seen Arsenal turn their attentions to Bayer Leverkusen’s exciting French winger but a deal could prove difficult for the Premier League leaders.

According to Sky Sports, The Bundesliga side are reluctant to offload their prized asset and have told the Gunners they have no intention of selling in the January window.

Arsenal are in the market for attacking reinforcements as they continue their quest to end a 19-year title drought.

Leverkusen value the 23-year-old at around £88.5million – a similar figure to what Chelsea paid for Mudryk.

The winger started his career at Paris Saint-Germain, scoring four goals in 34 appearances.

Intense competition for places led the Paris-born star to leave the capital club for Leverkusen in 2019 and unsurprisingly he has hit the ground running in Germany.

His 43 goals in 143 games has attracted the attention of some of Europe’s leading clubs with a big-money move likely to happen.

Diaby’s contract runs until 2025 but Leverkusen could be forced to sell this summer should he indicate he is ready for a new challenge.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to set the pace at the top of the Premier League despite being without striker Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian suffered a knee injury at the World Cup but the Gunners have coped well in his absence.

Mikel Arteta’s side have picked up three wins and a draw from their four league outings since the resumption, scoring nine goals in the process as they sit eight-points clear at the top of the table.
