Moses Itauma blasted out his opponent, Marcel Bode, within 20 seconds to announce his arrival on the heavyweight scene.

The 6ft 3in southpaw has been talked up since turning pro with Frank Warren’s Queensberry recently. He delivered by ending his contest on the BT Sport broadcast after just three punches.

If anybody was tuning in to get a feel for his fighting style they would be disappointed. One jab to the body, one left hand to the body and one to the head that landed on the gloves.

Bode crumbled and didn’t make much of an attempt to fight on.

In the aftermath, Itauma said he entered the ring ’emotional’ due to his brother, Karol, losing his fight earlier in the night. The light heavyweight was stopped in the fifth by Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna in a big upset.

The heavyweight brother has a lot of hype surrounding him despite this being his first pro bout. Impressive sparring stories come from some of the best gyms in the country and stretch back to when he was just 15.

There has been plenty of talk about the 18-year-old breaking Mike Tyson’s record of being the youngest man to ever win a world heavyweight title. If he wants to do it, he’ll have to grab a belt by May 2025.

He was watched on by the current WBC champion, Tyson Fury.
