Morgan Freeman, 87, turns heads as he steps out in LA for incognito dinner date | HELLO!
"I experienced nerve damage, and it hasn't improved. I cannot move it," he shared with People two years following the accident.
"If you keep your hand still, it may start to swell. Did you realize that you move your hand roughly a million times each day?"
Morgan shared with Esquire that the pain often travels "up and down the arm," and at times it can be "intensely painful."
The accident took place in Mississippi, where emergency responders had to extricate him from the car and airlift him to the hospital. His car rolled over multiple times, and he was fortunate to survive.
Even after the serious accident, Morgan has bounced back and continues to work in his 80s.
He has a number of projects in the pipeline, such as Coming 2 America and Vanquish.
Nevertheless, he continues to focus on filmmaking because he admitted that he has performed on stage in recent years and ended up forgetting his lines.
Morgan referred to the experience as "frightening" and mentioned that he completely lost his train of thought while speaking in front of a crowd.
He achieved recognition later in life, nearing the age of 50 when he received Oscar nominations for *Street Smart* and *Driving Miss Daisy.*
Morgan has enjoyed a series of successful films that have collectively grossed over $11 billion. However, he has also experienced some failures along the way.
His 2015 thriller, Momentum, made a mere £46 ($57) during its opening weekend in the UK, despite having a production budget of $20 million.
He’s currently featured in Lioness 2, sharing the screen with Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana, and he’s been candid about his reasons for taking on this part.
First and foremost, it's a project by Taylor Sheridan, and I am absolutely excited to be part of it.
Secondly, I have the privilege of collaborating with an amazing group of actors—Zoe, Nicole, Michael, and Bruce. Honestly, just this aspect makes it special.
“On top of everything else, I get paid for it.”
