Morgan Freeman, 87, looks sprightly in vibrant appearance after sparking health concerns

Morgan Freeman was seen looking lively as he shared a dinner with his family in California.

The 87-year-old Academy Award winner, who raised some worries last December, looked to be in great shape as he walked along the walkway outside the Italian eatery Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica.

On Sunday evening, he opted for a relaxed look, wearing a gray checkered shirt paired with dark pants and cozy sandals.

He topped off his outfit with a navy baseball cap, adding a touch of disguise while visiting the popular spot for celebrities.

Freeman was wearing a light-colored compression glove, which he uses to ease the effects of nerve damage he suffered after being rescued from a car crash in 2008.

The star of The Shawshank Redemption is frequently spotted wearing a glove lately, just like he did during his recent visit to The Jennifer Hudson Show last month.

He was spotted wearing it while shooting for a new project alongside his producing partner, Lori McCreary, in a photo posted on Instagram.

“Just another typical day at work,” McCreary captioned a photo of Freeman, who was dressed in a sleek blue linen suit, standing in a living room. He posed for the shot with his hands—one wearing a glove—neatly clasped behind him, looking directly at the camera.

Freeman has candidly shared how his health issue influences his everyday life. In a 2012 interview with Esquire, he explained, “It’s the fibromyalgia. It runs up and down my arm. That’s when it becomes unbearable. It’s agonizing.”

Last December, fans were worried when they noticed he was moving carefully while getting into an SUV, assisted by a staff member, following his appearance on the talk show The View.

The video quickly gained widespread attention as viewers wondered about his health, even though the 86-year-old had gracefully slid into a big vehicle and didn’t require any assistance.

A spokesperson for the celebrity later stated that Morgan is doing well health-wise.

Although Freeman might not be seen often in public outside of promotional events, he is actually very active and has a packed agenda.

In September, he attended the 2024 Monterey Jazz Festival to honor his fellow acting icon, Clint Eastwood, by presenting him with a special award.

Freeman shared a photo on Instagram where he is seen in a relaxed suit next to Eastwood, who is wearing a checkered shirt and fleece jacket, with McCreary standing between them. He wrote, “I had the absolute joy of honoring my friend Clint Eastwood with the first-ever Clint Eastwood Award for Cultural Leadership at the @MontereyJazzFestival last weekend.”

The two actors appeared together in Clint Eastwood's 1992 Western film Unforgiven, and they worked together again on Million Dollar Baby in 2005, a role that earned Freeman an Academy Award. They also collaborated on Invictus in 2009, where Eastwood, now 94, directed Freeman in the role of Nelson Mandela.

This year, Freeman has starred in My Dead Friend Zoe and Gunner, in addition to featuring in the second season of Lioness alongside Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldana.

He is also scheduled to reprise his role as Thaddeus Bradley in Now You See Me 3, which is expected to hit theaters in November 2025.
