Victoria Kjær Theilvig has been named Miss Universe 2024, making her the first contestant from Denmark to win this prestigious title.

The stunning competitive dancer and future lawyer showcased a lavish performance at the 73rd Miss Universe finale on Saturday night in Mexico City.

The 21-year-old winner surpassed over 120 other competitors and received the crown from the current title holder, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.

The stunning beauty captured everyone's attention in a stunning floor-length pink strapless gown that highlighted her figure. The gown sparkled with elaborate sequin decorations throughout, complemented by elegant off-shoulder beadwork.

Victoria was overcome with emotion and started to cry when her name was called by American host Mario Lopez and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo.

The pageant started by selecting a group of 30 finalists from a larger pool of contestants. Later on, five of these finalists were asked questions covering various subjects, such as leadership and resilience.

When asked how her life would be different if there were no judgment from others, Victoria replied that she wouldn't alter a thing, stating, "I take life one day at a time."

When the judging panel asked her what message she had for the audience, the Danish contestant encouraged everyone to "keep pushing forward, regardless of your background."

She mentioned on Instagram, "This outfit represents the incredible women who sailed the oceans, guided their communities, and embraced the joys of life with their bravery."

Mexico's María Fernanda Beltrán took home the title of first runner-up, and Nigeria's Cnidimma Adetshina claimed the second runner-up spot. Additionally, contestants from Thailand, Bolivia, Venezuela, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Russia, Chile, Canada, and Peru all reached the top 12.

This year, the pageant focused on being more inclusive by allowing women who are married and mothers to participate, marking the first time such contestants were welcomed, including Miss Universe UAE, Emilia Dobreva.

At the same time, there were no longer limitations on age or body shape. Last year, the final 20 contestants included Jane Dipika Garrett, who made history as the first plus-sized winner of the Miss Universe Nepal title.

While the grand final is the highlights of the competition, the national costume segment during the preliminaries is a crowd favorite, and this year's contestants certainly impressed.

Many of the costumes drew inspiration from nature and plants. For instance, Miss Guatemala, Ana Gabriela Villanueva, showcased a stunning beaded leaf design, while Miss Belarus, Eleonora Kachalovskaya, wore a whimsical outfit adorned with flowers.
