Famed boxer Mike Tyson is set to step back into the ring for a professional match for the first time in nearly 20 years. The ex-undisputed heavyweight champion will face off against YouTube star Jake Paul this Friday night in Texas.
There has been a lot of discussion about the match before both fighters actually entered the ring. Tyson's most recent professional fight was in 2005, where he ended the match by retiring on his stool after five rounds against Kevin McBride. Additionally, this fight was already postponed earlier this year due to health issues affecting the 58-year-old.
The American boxer had an exhibition match with Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020, which ended in a draw. Meanwhile, Paul, who gained fame as a YouTuber before transitioning to boxing, last stepped into the ring in July this year, winning against UFC fighter Mike Perry by TKO. At 27 years old, he has created an impressive track record, competing against several well-known UFC fighters. His professional boxing record includes just one loss, which was to Tommy Fury in February 2023.
