Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson LIVE! Boxing updates and undercard results
The chatter wraps up tonight as Mike Tyson returns to the boxing ring to take on Jake Paul in Dallas. It's been almost two decades since 'Iron Mike' last stepped into the ring as a pro, when he retired on his stool during the match against Kevin McBride. Now, at 58 years old, he will once again put on the gloves and enter the arena.
His age adds to the controversy surrounding this event, especially since the match was originally set for July before being delayed. Tyson experienced a health scare during a flight due to a flare-up of an ulcer, which resulted in a hospital stay and concerns for his well-being. Nevertheless, both fighters have successfully completed their medical evaluations and are cleared to participate in this officially sanctioned fight, planned for eight rounds of two minutes each. Knockouts are permitted.
In the preliminary matches, Katie Taylor will face Amanda Serrano again, and this clash definitely merits the spotlight typically reserved for the headline fight. Taylor emerged victorious against Serrano in an exciting match last year, and now they're set to compete again, with the women's undisputed light-welterweight title at stake. Stay tuned for the full lineup leading up to the Paul versus Tyson fight, with our LIVE blog from Standard Sport below!
Latest Updates on Paul vs. Tyson
Mike Tyson: It’s A Fight For Survival
A straightforward note from the former champion.
Jake Paul Aims For Canelo Alvarez Showdown
Jake Paul is already setting his sights past the upcoming Tyson fight, aiming high with his bold plan to challenge Canelo Alvarez. He wants to settle the debate about who truly holds the title of the "face of boxing" in a match for the world championship.
Canelo is a past undisputed champion in the super-middleweight division and currently retains the WBA, WBC, and WBO titles at 168 pounds.
When asked if there was a particular fighter he wanted to challenge, Paul revealed on the TimboSugarShow podcast: "Yes, I'm targeting Canelo. This fight will demonstrate that I'm the leading figure in boxing and the biggest draw in the sport."
"My fight against Canelo at 200 pounds for the cruiserweight championship is probably the most significant match, maybe even more so than my bout with Tyson. It just makes perfect sense. Canelo is nearing the end of his career and will be looking for a big payday. Meanwhile, I want to prove to everyone that all the talk I’ve been doing about defeating Canelo is real."
Canelo, a champion in four different weight classes, does not currently possess a world title in the cruiserweight division and has never competed in matches over 175 pounds.
He continues to be one of the top talents in the sport, regardless of weight class.
Oscar De La Hoya's Future Predictions
"If it's within the first three or four rounds, I'm going to go with Tyson winning by knockout, that one-punch finish," he forecasted on Fight Hub TV.
"If the fight goes beyond four rounds, I need to be cautious about Tyson's stamina and how Jake Paul's youth might give him an advantage."
"I've watched Jake Paul's videos, and he definitely appears to be quite large and impressive."
Tommy Fury Steps On The Scales
It seems that Tommy Fury is supporting Mike Tyson in his quest to be only the second person to defeat Jake Paul this evening, following Tommy’s own victory.
The retired British boxer is in disbelief about what he's going to witness tonight.
Khan expressed his surprise at the prospect of a match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, saying, "It's incredible to think that a fight like this could actually happen."
Mike Tyson is an iconic figure in boxing, and he's not someone you would want to take lightly. Despite being older and having been retired for quite a while, he has still participated in several exhibition matches.
"I honestly believe that he has the potential to really damage Jake Paul. I can't fathom what Jake Paul is thinking right now. He's going up against a formidable heavyweight, and I worry that he could end up getting seriously hurt."
As is often the situation with events like the World Cup draws or the results of shows like I’m a Celeb, tonight's script has been revealed ahead of time!
Someone has taken the time to describe tonight's events in captivating detail. It suggests that Tyson will begin the night with great energy but will struggle as the evening progresses, likely due to his age. I wonder if a whole team of writers worked on this?
Paul is likely to come out on top, especially since the famously laid-back Tyson has already given his approval.

It's no surprise that Logan Paul is supporting his brother in his quest to succeed.
"Come on, Jake! Hey Mike Tyson, you have no idea," he posted on Instagram. "You're taking on the Pauls, my friend. Let's do this, Jake. First-round knockout, let's go!"
Tyson's Comeback: From Bankruptcy To Boxing
For almost twenty years, a career marked by relentless destruction came to a sorrowfully subdued and almost tragic end.
Mike Tyson, still known as the youngest world heavyweight champion in boxing history, ended his career in 2005 during a match against Kevin McBride, an Irish fighter who later lost six out of his next eight bouts.
At 38 years old, an emotional Tyson seemed like a shattered individual as he reflected on his loss. He viewed boxing as a reluctant obligation, a relationship he understood he needed to leave behind.
"I have the capability to maintain my fitness, but I don't believe I have the fighting spirit I once did," Tyson confessed. "Honestly, I’m just boxing to pay my bills."
UFC star Conor McGregor has expressed his disapproval of the fight happening, but he has shown support for Tyson to come out on top.
"Don't worry about it. They're wearing 14-ounce gloves," he exclaimed during a live outburst. "Are the rounds two minutes long? Really? Who cares?"
"I really hope Tyson shakes things up for that guy Paul. Honestly, nobody cares about him. How did he even end up in the Dallas Stadium? What is happening here?"
Exploring Mike Tyson's Troubled Mindset Again
As Mike Tyson enters the ring on Friday night, he will be fully aware that an all-too-familiar and unwelcome presence will be making a comeback.
Tyson isn't worried about Jake Paul's punches during their match at AT&T Stadium. Instead, he is concerned about the comeback of ‘Iron Mike,’ as this will be his first professional fight in nearly two decades.
Here's a lesson I've taken from my past: whenever the tough version of Mike Tyson shows up at times when it's really not needed, I find myself in handcuffs,” Tyson shared on the Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul in August. “Because of that, I tread carefully when that side of me surfaces.”
“Regrettably, I find myself in a constant battle with that part of me. I wish I could put an end to it. It lingers in my mind and won’t go away. I wish it would just disappear, but it seems like it’s not going anywhere.”
