Boro seal it! Mini panic over. Lenihan clears and it allows super sub Crooks to run in behind. He's forced wide but lays it across the face of goal and McGree gets it back post, has time to compose himself and then fire home. Boro have three goals again!

QPR have one back. Steffen won't want to see that one again. FK is a long way out on the right wing. Steffen leaves his near post unguarded anticipating the cross and Chair completely catches him out with the long-range effort.

He wants that hattrick. He drives into the box and smashes it across the goal with his left. Dieng gets a good hand to it.

Crooks and Howson on for Ramsey and Archer

Boro have another! Dieng actually saves the penalty but he can't hold it and Akpom follows up to slam home his 19th of the season!

Archer with a lovely flicked touch into Akpom who then sprays right to McGree who breaks into the box. Tries to cut in as Iroegbunam slides in and takes the standing foot.

Warm applause as Albert Adomah comes on for QPR. 'Oh Albert Adomah' sing the Boro fans.

Boro in front! Barlaser corner is cleared but Boro recycle well and it comes back to Barlaser who swings an excellent one into the box and Akpom meets it with his head. Great finish. 18 league goals for the season. 1-0.

Triangle on the right wing between Hackney, McGree and Smith gets the latter free down the right. He cuts it back to McGree who's effort is deflected. Archer has an air kick trying to get it in but can't

Lovely ball in behind the deep line from Archer and Akpom is running into the area. It's just slightly getting away from his so he's stretching as he meets it ahead of Dieng who dives down well to apply the block.

Much better start to this second half. Half chance from Boro as they work it up to the edge of the box and Ramsey's flick doesn't come off but falls kindly to Archer. He fashions a shot but it's a simple stop for Dieng.

McGree is now playing on the right wing and Ramsey is playing in that fluid left-sided role that McGree usually plays.

Off the post after a magnificent save from Dieng. Boro counter from a QPR corner and Akpom breaks into the QPR half. He has McGree across but potential for offside as it's 3 on 2 in Boro's favour.

Akpom waits and eventually cuts it back to Archer who's arriving and he then goes one more across to McGree who peeled slightly sideways to get onside. He cuts in from his wider position, beats a man with a dummy and then hits it low with his right foot, but Dieng gets am excellent hand to tip it onto the post.

So close, and excellent start to the second half.

Poor first half that. QPR defending well but Boro lacking their usual rhythm and precision in possession. Just not quite clicked for them so far. No shots on target all half, which is most unlike them under Carrick.

Boro only just survive there. Lenihan does well to get to a QPR cross ahead of Martin but it falls kindly inside the area for Chair who recycles it to Field. His effort is blocked by McNair but spins up towards goal, and thankfully over the bar with Steffen helpless after the deflection.

Giles swings in a FK just yards in front of the right-sided corner flag. He's swinging it in looking for the back post and Lenihan rises to challenge Dieng who lets it straight through his gloves.

Unfortunately for Boro it's wide of that far post and the referee gives a goalkick rather than a FK. Would have been interesting had that gone in what David Webb would have given with Lenihan jumping with Dieng who wanted a foul.

Got to credit QPR, who are defending well to make life difficult, but Boro have just felt a little out of sync too.

Better worked chance there though as they work it out to Giles on the left and rather than cross into the box he spots the run of McGree onto the edge. His shot is blocked though.

Sums up Boro's opening 30 minutes that we've passed the half-hour mark and Boro haven't had a shot on goal at all yet. That's not just on target, but a shot at all.

Boro have at least Got themselves a bit more in control of proceedings but they're still just struggling right now for that usual calm and fast-tempo play we've been so used to with too many passes going astray right now.

Ramsey has looked bright.

Best bit of Boro play so far as Barlaser and Hackney link then give it to McGree who plays the through ball for Akpom. The flag is up early as he finishes really well across goal and it's ruled out for offside.

Hopefully if nothing else just something that might lift Boro.

Boro just not quite into their rhythm yet, and the game is largely been played in Boro's half so far, albeit without any big QPR moments yet.
