Jamaica Sends Best Wishes To Antonio After Crash
Antonio, who was born in London and represents Jamaica internationally, is currently in his tenth season with West Ham. He made the move to the club from Nottingham Forest back in 2015.
This season, he has played in 15 matches across all tournaments, with 11 of those being starting roles in the Premier League. He was also part of the squad during the 3-1 loss to Leicester earlier in the week, where he came off the bench in the second half.
Antonio has netted 83 goals in 323 matches for The Hammers and played a key role in their victory in the Conference League in 2023.
He started his soccer journey at Tooting and Mitcham, a non-league club, before advancing to the professional level with Reading.
Antonio has played for Cheltenham, Southampton, Colchester, and Sheffield Wednesday. He made his debut for Jamaica in 2021 and has netted five goals in 21 matches for the national team since then.
The Jamaica Football Federation issued a statement acknowledging Antonio's circumstances, and head coach Steve McClaren expressed, "On behalf of all the players, support staff, and coaching staff, I want to wish Michail a quick recovery."
"We are keeping him in our thoughts and sending our best wishes during this difficult time."
