Lewis Hamilton has expressed his admiration for Michael Schumacher in a recent German documentary that tells the story of the Ferrari legend. The seven-time F1 world champion has been described by Hamilton as an exceptional driver who consistently performed at the highest level.
Hamilton competed in Formula 1 alongside Schumacher for a period of three years starting from the year 2010, when the latter returned after a brief retirement. Subsequently, post the culmination of the 2012 season, the British driver took over the position vacated by the German at Mercedes.
Hamilton has recently participated in the production of a documentary that will be broadcast in Germany called "Being Michael Schumacher". This documentary comes almost a decade after Schumacher experienced a life-threatening injury while skiing in Meribel, France.
Hamilton also mentioned Schumacher's win at the Imola circuit back in 1994 when his role model Ayrton Senna passed away due to a fatal accident.
Hamilton paid homage to Schumacher, describing him as an exceptional racer.
"He emerged victorious in the race after the unfortunate demise of Ayrton. He was succeeding in every competition!"
Hamilton and Schumacher have both won the most Formula 1 world championships in history, each securing a total of seven titles.

During the documentary, Fernando Alonso, who has won the world championship twice, also praised Schumacher for revolutionizing the approach of Formula 1 drivers to race preparation and competitions.
The Spaniard expressed that he had more losses than victories against his opponent. He achieved his two world titles whilst racing for Renault in 2005 and 2006. This was the time during which Schumacher was in his final years at Ferrari.
He is an extremely proficient driver, and when we were racing in karting and in the junior leagues, Michael was a source of motivation and encouragement for all of us drivers from my time. It was truly remarkable to witness Michael's prowess on the track.
Michael completely revolutionized the way people approach racing. He brought a new approach to physical preparation and determination, and he worked hard with the engineers all weekend long. Because of him, many positive changes were made in the world of sports.
Corinna Schumacher, Michael Schumacher's wife, has been firm on safeguarding his personal life since the accident that occurred in December 2013. Schumacher has not been visible in public since then and his health status has been kept under wraps as he convalesces in the comfort of his home.
The German media library ARD will show the five-part series called "Being Michael Schumacher" in the German language exclusively on December 14th.
