"It's October 3rd!" To celebrate, we headed to London’s Savoy Theatre for a fun quiz focused on Mean Girls Day, featuring the cast of the West End show.
We decided to gauge the general knowledge of North Shore High School students by posing a straightforward question: “Which was released first: the original Mean Girls movie from 2004 or…?” From MySpace and iPhones to Shrek and Beyoncé, why not join in and test your own pop culture knowledge?
Let's see how Charlie Burn (Cady Heron), Georgina Castle (Regina George), Elèna Gyasi (Gretchen Wieners), Elena Skye (Janis Sarkisian), Tom Xander (Damian Hubbard), and Daniel Bravo (Aaron Samuels) perform in the video below.
Inspired by the beloved film featuring Lindsay Lohan, which tells the story of a girl returning to the US and discovering the harsh realities of high school, the musical debuted in Washington in 2017 before making its way to Broadway in 2018.
This piece is written by Tina Fey, with music composed by Jeff Richmond and lyrics crafted by Nell Benjamin. It includes several iconic lines from the original movie and features songs like “Meet the Plastics,” “Apex Predator,” and “Revenge Party.” The production is directed by Casey Nicholaw, known for his work on The Book of Mormon and Aladdin.
The cast of the West End production also includes Grace Mouat in the role of Karen Smith, Lucca Chadwick-Patel as Kevin Ganatra, Ako Mitchell portraying Mr. Duvall, and Zoë Rainey playing multiple roles including Ms. Heron, Ms. Norbury, and Mrs. George. They are joined by Tia Antoine-Charles, Georgia Arron, Liam Buckland, Shonah Buwu, Baylie Carson, Freddie Clements, Siobhan Diffin, Clíona Flynn, Fergie Fraser, Angus Good, Jenny Huxley-Golden, Holly Liburd, Corey Mitchell, Mervin Noronha, Aharon Rayner, Trézel Sergeant, Josh Singleton, Annie Southall, Lillia Squires, Tommy Wade-Smith, and Holly Willock.
