The potential transfer of Noussair Mazraoui to West Ham has fallen through, giving Manchester United a chance to step in instead.

The announcement came out on Thursday that the Hammers had reached an agreement to pay Bayern Munich £13.5m for the right back, with an additional £3m in potential add-ons.

Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg posted on Twitter that the deal between Noussair Mazraoui and West Ham is not happening. They have not come to an agreement with the agent.

Even though the clubs and the player had agreed, West Ham has now decided to walk away from the negotiations.

The rumored transfer of Noussair Mazraoui to West Ham has fallen through after a contract was accepted.

He then said: 'Manchester United are actively working to sign Mazraoui. They are currently in negotiations.'

Sky has also mentioned that the fate of Aaron Wan-Bissaka will play a crucial role in determining if a transfer for Mazraoui will happen.

The right-back from England is in the last year of his contract with Old Trafford. There are rumors that he could transfer to West Ham or Galatasaray, which could bring in good money for the club.

The update will be a disappointing setback for the recently appointed West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui.

Mazraoui, who is 26 years old, has been playing for two seasons at the Allianz Arena. He signed with the team on a free transfer from Ajax in 2022.

The defender started his career at Ajax, where he was coached by the current manager of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag.

He also played for the Morocco team that defied expectations to make it to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup.

Manchester United might consider selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka in order to bring in Mazraoui.

West Ham, under the new management of Julen Lopetegui, have secured three big player acquisitions during the current transfer period.

The club welcomed the talented young player Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham joined for free after leaving Sheffield United.
