Max George ‘staying positive’ amid hospital stay due to heart issues
Max George, a member of The Wanted, has expressed that he is keeping a hopeful outlook as he remains in the hospital awaiting tests that may reveal important information about his heart health.
On Thursday, the 36-year-old singer shared a message on Instagram where he talked about his recent hospital visit due to feeling “very ill.” He mentioned that he requires “further tests” to find out “what type of surgery I will need to recover.”
To keep his fans in the loop, George shared a video from his hospital bed on Friday, where he mentioned that he had experienced a somewhat challenging day.
He mentioned, “My heart rate decreased a bit this morning, which was somewhat unsettling.”
"Everyone here is fantastic, so I wanted to bring everything back to a more stable state, which is wonderful."
The reason I haven’t gone ahead with any procedures, like surgery, is that many friends and family have been asking me about it. The truth is, there are numerous tests that have to be completed before we can take any action.
"I just have to hold on until next week. Once I finish all the tests, they'll have a clear picture of what steps to take. They might still be able to help me without all the information, but it will be much more effective with everything they need."

George gained popularity in the 2010s as part of the band The Wanted, which produced several successful tracks such as "All Time Low," "Glad You Came," and "Heart Vacancy."
His bandmate, Tom Parker, passed away in 2022 at the age of 33 after being diagnosed with a brain tumor that could not be removed through surgery.

George, who assisted in carrying Parker's coffin during his funeral with his bandmates Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, and Nathan Sykes, had previously mentioned on This Morning that he kept sending messages to his deceased bandmate. He found it to be somewhat comforting for himself.
He also had a role as Clint in the American musical show Glee and was featured in his group's reality series called The Wanted Life.
Throughout the years, he has participated in various competition shows, such as Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, Bear Grylls: Mission Survive, and Richard Osman’s House of Games.
George's girlfriend is Maisie Smith, a former star from EastEnders. She participated in the BBC One dance competition, Strictly Come Dancing, in 2020, around the same time as George. However, they've noted that their romantic relationship didn't start blossoming until 2022.
He was set to participate in a Christmas special of MasterChef, but the BBC removed the program from its holiday lineup due to claims regarding judge Gregg Wallace's behavior in various shows.
