I’m a Celebrity has kicked off, and ten participants have already spent their fourth night facing the challenges of the Australian wilderness.
Irish DJ and BBC radio host Dean McCullough let Ant and Dec down during a Bushtucker Trial earlier this week, but GK Barry surprised everyone with her impressive performance. The duo took on yet another task on Wednesday (20 November) by participating in “Drown in the Dumps,” aiming to earn yellow stars for their fellow camp members.
To add even more excitement, two unexpected guests showed up at the camp in the latest episode of the show.
Following numerous rumors and guesswork, it has been officially announced that Love Island star Maura Higgins will be joining the jungle as a late arrival.
"I have no idea what time it is or where I am," she shared in an interview with The Mirror. "Honestly, I haven't really prepared myself for the jungle at all. I've been avoiding thinking about it because it just makes me feel really anxious."
She would become the second contestant from the Island, following Olivia Atwood, to join the show.
"I really don’t want to disappoint anyone. So many people have been messaging me, saying, 'I can't wait to see you in the show!' I’m worried about pulling out of the auditions and feeling like the biggest coward."
Reverend Richard Coles, a writer and broadcaster, appeared alongside Higgins in tonight's show. Coles became well-known in the 1980s as a member of the band The Communards.
In his twenties, he became curious about religion following the loss of friends to HIV. During the 1990s, he pursued a Bachelor's degree in theology at King’s College. He was later ordained as a priest in 2005.
This follows a difficult year for the Reverend, who experienced the passing of his mother in February and then lost both of his dogs on the same day in August.
The former Church of England parish priest tragically lost his husband, Reverend David Coles, just a few days before Christmas in 2019. David passed away at the age of 43 due to liver disease related to his struggle with alcohol addiction.

In his 2021 memoir, The Madness of Grief: A Memoir of Love and Loss, Coles reflected on the painful experience of watching a loved one spiral into self-destruction, stating, "It was incredibly difficult to witness someone you care for harm themselves."
It's as if someone is struggling to stay afloat and you offer them a life ring, but they refuse to grab hold of it.
"I made every effort I could think of to help him quit drinking, and to give him credit, he attempted as well. However, it proved to be too overwhelming for him."
He left Radio 4's Saturday Live in March 2023 after serving for 12 years.
