Maura Higgins and Barry McGuigan among stars reported in I’m A Celebrity line-up
Former Love Island contestant Maura Higgins and renowned boxer Barry McGuigan are reportedly set to join other well-known Irish personalities in the Australian jungle for the next season of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
The situation might be a bit uncomfortable for the two, considering that Higgins used to date McGuigan's son, Shane, back in 2018 when she was a ring girl for the betting company William Hill.
It's rumored that former Strictly Come Dancing judge Oti Mabuse, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, Loose Women presenter Jane Moore, McFly vocalist Danny Jones, and ex-BBC radio presenter Rev Richard Coles will join the cast of the reality show set to begin on November 17th.
As reported by The Sun newspaper, they will have former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, radio hosts Melvin Odoom and Dean McCullough, along with internet celebrity GK Barry on board.
ITV hasn't officially announced the cast for 2024 yet. A representative stated that any names being mentioned for I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! are merely guesses.
The Sun has reported that Coleen Rooney, the spouse of ex-Manchester United player Wayne Rooney, is set to join the series, although this has not been officially verified yet.
The 38-year-old made news in recent years due to her well-known defamation lawsuit against Rebekah Vardy, who is also married to a football player. This case has been referred to as "Wagatha Christie."
In 2019, Rooney claimed that Vardy was responsible for sharing her confidential details with the media in a widely shared social media post that became central to the conflict.
This happened two years after Vardy participated in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, where she was the third contestant to be voted off.
This year's speculated roster also features Mabuse, who serves as a judge on Dancing On Ice. She left the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing in 2022 after winning the competition twice, teaming up with soap actor Kelvin Fletcher and comedian Bill Bailey.
Tulisa Contostavlos, who used to judge on The X Factor, is set to make her comeback to television in the jungle after leaving the ITV talent show ten years ago. Additionally, Jones will follow in the footsteps of his McFly bandmate Dougie Poynter, who took home the title in the competition back in 2011.
Details about the final lineup emerged after hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly released a preview video featuring their reactions to the new contestants.
In the video, the TV pair shows a blend of enthusiasm and satisfaction as they learn about the celebrities who will be entering the Australian jungle later this month.
They summed up this year's lineup in ten words: "Excellent. Really excellent. Amazing. Fantastic. Absolutely. Definitely. For sure. YES!"
The upcoming series, set to premiere on November 17, will feature a fresh lineup of well-known personalities who will face various challenges to earn food and goodies for their group while also trying to avoid being eliminated by the audience.
We have reached out to the representatives of everyone who is rumored to be going into the jungle for their feedback.
