Matthew Perry: Courteney Cox pays tribute to Friends co-star a year on from his death
Courteney Cox has honored Matthew Perry one year after his passing.
The 60-year-old actress posted on Instagram, "Thinking of you today and always." She included a heart emoji and tagged the addiction charity established in his memory.
Perry was discovered deceased at his residence on October 28, 2024, at the age of 54. Following an examination, a medical professional determined that ketamine was the main factor contributing to his death.
Both actors are well-known for their characters in the popular sitcom Friends. Perry's character, Chandler Bing, tied the knot with Cox's character, Monica, during the seventh season of the show. This memorable event took place in a two-part episode called The One With Monica And Chandler's Wedding.
Cox also posted a monochrome picture of herself alongside Perry, as well as another one featuring the entire Friends cast, including Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow.
On Monday, Aniston, 55, known for her role as Rachel Green in the series, posted a series of photographs of Perry on her Instagram. She accompanied the images with the words "1 year," along with a heart wrapped in bandages and a dove emoji.

Throughout his life, Perry was candid about his struggles with drugs and addiction. He even established a sober living home to help men facing similar challenges.
During a conversation with podcaster Tom Power in 2022, Perry expressed, "When I pass away, I hope that my contributions to helping others are highlighted first, rather than my role in Friends."
After his passing, the Friends cast expressed their deep sorrow in a shared statement to the magazine People, stating they were "completely heartbroken."
Earlier this year, five individuals were indicted in connection with his death following an investigation that revealed a widespread underground criminal organization. This group exploited the US actor during his relapse into addiction.
Perry was looking for help with his depression and anxiety when he developed an addiction to intravenous ketamine. According to US attorney Martin Estrada, he reportedly relied on "unethical doctors who viewed Perry as a quick profit opportunity."
Ketamine is a tranquilizer that can be used both for recreational purposes and for therapeutic applications, such as alleviating depression and managing pain.

In an interview with NBC last week, Perry's mother, Suzanne Morrison, mentioned that he seemed to have had a sort of "premonition" regarding his death during one of their final conversations.
She recounted, "He approached me and expressed, 'I love you deeply, and I’m so thrilled to be with you at this moment.'"
"It felt a bit like a warning or some kind of sign. I didn't realize it then, but I remember thinking, 'When was the last time we had a talk like this? It's been ages.'"
