Jeff Stelling criticized the Match of the Day production of the BBC for refusing to report on 'the most contentious call of the weekend', causing Alan Shearer to come to the show's defense.

The ex-host of Sky Sports News, who is currently working for talkSPORT, witnessed Newcastle's outstanding triumph of 4-3 over West Ham and expressed dissatisfaction with the way BBC covered the game.

The Premier League restarted with a thrilling game at St James' Park, where seven goals were scored. The Hammers had a two-goal lead, but unfortunately lost it and missed out on the opportunity to go above Manchester United.

During the captivating game, there were multiple noteworthy incidents. These included two penalty kicks being granted, a red card being handed out, and a late-two-goal performance by Harvey Barnes. Presenter Jeff Stelling expressed his disagreement with Match of the Day for overlooking a particular moment during the game.

Gary Lineker typically hosts Saturday's program along with co-presenters Shearer and Ian Wright, who is a legendary Arsenal player. However, Alex Scott took the reins for the most recent episode and was joined by Martin Keown and former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock.

Jeff Stelling strongly criticized the production of BBC's Match of the Day for neglecting to report on 'the weekend's most contentious verdict'.

Alex Scott was the host of Saturday's MOTD program, standing in for the usual presenter, Gary Lineker.

Stelling expressed his dissatisfaction with the Beeb for not featuring what he considers to be 'the most disputed verdict of the weekend' in Newcastle's victory against West Ham.

Usually, the program offers a thorough examination of the games played that day. However, Stelling was annoyed because the group neglected to discuss Newcastle's second penalty during their game against West Ham.

In the 77th minute, Kalvin Phillips kicked Anthony Gordon, which led to Alexander Isak scoring his second penalty of the game. Stelling disagrees with the decision and considers it to be 'controversial'.

Stelling expressed his dissatisfaction with the BBC's coverage on his social media account. He pointed out that Match of the Day did not talk about the second penalty awarded to Newcastle, which he believes was the most controversial decision of the weekend.

"It's not @AlexScott's fault, but rather a poor decision in production," he stated.

Alan Shearer supported MOTD by informing Stelling that they didn't cover the incident as 'it was clearly a penalty and due to time constraints on the show'.

According to Stelling, the BBC made a terrible decision by not analyzing Kalvin Phillips' penalty challenge on Anthony Gordon.

Stelling made a statement in response to certain fans who were perplexed about why Scott was presenting the show instead of Lineker, who is the usual anchor, and also why Shearer and Wright were not around.

Although the Newcastle superstar Shearer was aware of the recent events, he responded to Stelling's remarks in a respectful manner on Sunday morning. He commented that he believes the reason they didn't show it on the program was because it was an obvious penalty and they had limited time to cover everything. He also expressed his well-wishes to Stelling.

Isak's successful penalty kick was the driving force behind Newcastle's victory as it evened up the score before Barnes came onto the field and created a spectacular moment.

The young player who is 26 years old managed to score two goals within the last 10 minutes of the game which helped to change the direction of the game. This victory was crucial for Eddie Howe, who is the manager and was experiencing a lot of stress and pressure.
