Rashford absence an 'internal matter' - Ten Hag

Marcus Rashford

Shearer commented that Rashford must not let his talent go to waste.

The head of Manchester United, Erik ten Hag, has stated that the absence of Marcus Rashford during their win in the fourth round of the FA Cup against Newport is a situation that remains within the organization and will not be discussed publicly.

The striker from England did not attend the training session with his team, United, due to feeling unwell on Friday.

Nonetheless, news outlets later emerged with accounts that the individual who is currently 26 years of age, was spotted in various nighttime establishment in Northern Ireland on the evenings of Wednesday and Thursday.

Ten Hag mentioned on Sunday that the individual stated their sickness. The remaining details are confidential and I will handle the situation.

During his post-match news conference, the Dutch manager of United was asked why it was an internal matter when someone reports being sick. His reply was straightforward and concise, stating that it was indeed an internal matter.

When asked if this caused confusion rather than clarity, Ten Hag explained that it was only confusing for the person asking the question, not for him. He considers it an internal issue that he will handle and resolve with his team.

During a BBC One interview, ex-Newcastle and England striker Alan Shearer expressed his concern, stating that if an issue is being dealt with internally, it suggests that there might be something wrong.

Rashford has a lot of potential and talent. We witnessed his ability to follow the rules last season when he faced consequences for being tardy and even missed a game. However, something seems to be amiss either in his personal life or his connection with the club because he cannot continue to behave this way.

It would be unfair for him to let his talent go to waste, so he requires an influential leader who can guide him and make him realize the consequences of overlooking his talent. The idea of finishing his career with remorse and missed opportunities should not be an option for him.

During the last season, Rashford managed to make 30 goals in various competitions while playing for United. Furthermore, he recently signed a new contract with his beloved club during the summer.

Nevertheless, he has only accomplished a total of four goals in the current season, which drew negative attention to his celebration during the 2-2 tie against Tottenham. Roy Keane, a past captain of Manchester United, and Jamie Redknapp, an ex-midfielder for Tottenham, criticized the celebration.

Former English player Micah Richards also shared his thoughts on BBC One, mentioning that Marcus should be aware that he is a well-known figure and that people will pay attention to him wherever he goes.

Regardless of whether he is given a break or not, he continues to cause more trouble before a game.

"They came to the match with the intention to concentrate on it, but now we need to inquire with Erik ten Hag about the ongoing affairs elsewhere."

"Ten Hag Tackles Fresh Off-pitch Challenges"

Ten Hag has had to deal with difficult inquiries about one of his team members on multiple occasions this season.

During the initial weeks of the season, the topic of discussion around the club was centered on what the future held for Mason Greenwood.

There's currently an investigation involving Antony, a Brazilian forward signed by Ten Hag for a costly sum of money. It's regarding allegations that he abused someone he lived with, but he hasn't faced any consequences from the Brazilian or British authorities yet. He says that the accusations aren't true.

When Jadon Sancho was not selected for the match against Arsenal in September, there was a big issue that resulted in the winger being removed from the first-team squad. Consequently, he has now joined his previous team, Borussia Dortmund, on loan for the remaining season.

If Rashford remains disciplined, it won't be the initial instance of Ten Hag admonishing him.

The attacker was not included in Manchester United's initial squad for the EFL Cup's round of 16 against Newcastle in November as a penalty.

During that time, Ten Hag expressed his displeasure about his actions of indulging in birthday celebrations at a swanky Manchester nightspot shortly after participating in a humiliating 3-0 loss to Manchester City.

Rashford was benched during United's Premier League match against Wolves last season due to oversleeping and missing a team meeting. Later, he was subbed onto the field and scored the winning goal for his team.
