Today's FA Cup fourth-round match between Manchester United and Newport County will be played without Marcus Rashford as he has not been named in the team's squad.

United reported that Rashford was unable to perform due to illness and that he stayed at the Carrington training complex to recuperate.

A recent article from The Athletic stated that the Manchester United striker went out in Belfast, and the next day claimed he was too sick to go to practice.

United received information that Rashford was present in Northern Ireland's capital on Wednesday evening. However, The Athletic released evidence that the athlete was spotted at a nightclub the following night, mere hours before he was supposed to attend a training session for the club.

According to sources, Rashford went to the Thompsons Garage nightclub in the town on Thursday evening and came back to Manchester the next morning on a private plane.

Last Friday, Erik ten Hag stated that the English footballer could not practice in preparation for the FA Cup fourth round journey to Newport County today as he was sick.

A video clip of the 26-year-old's evening in Belfast surfaced later, and United asserted that the pictures were from Wednesday evening, which was planned as a day off for the entire first-team squad.

On Wednesday, Rashford was also seen at Lavery's Bar, another night venue located in Belfast.

However, several reliable sources have told The Athletic that Rashford spent two consecutive nights reveling in Belfast and visited Thompsons on Thursday.

When The Athletic approached both Manchester United and Rashford's representatives for comment, they decided not to respond.

Ten Hag mentioned on Friday that Rashford and Evans were both unwell in the morning, and their recovery progress will need to be monitored.

The players of United were permitted to take some time off prior to their upcoming game against Newport County for the FA Cup Fourth Round today.

This week, the team practiced together with Rashford attending the training on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but he left for Northern Ireland afterwards.

Gerry Flynn took a picture of Marcus Rashford at Larne FC.

During his journey, the striker found out that his friend Ro-Shaun Williams, who had once played for United's youth team, had just signed with the Northern Ireland champions, Larne.

On Thursday, snapshots of Rashford being present at Larne's training centers surfaced on social media.

The leader of Manchester United expressed disapproval in November when Rashford went to a nightspot after his team lost 3-0 in the Manchester derby. The behavior was deemed unacceptable.

I had a conversation with him regarding the issue. It is not tolerable behavior. He expressed remorse and that concludes the matter. As far as we are concerned, it is an internal affair. This is what Ten Hag stated.

He has a strong drive to correct any issues and is fully supportive of our cause.

Although he made an error, that doesn't mean he's not fitting in. I observe him daily during practice and am aware of his actions.

When Rashford wasn't playing, Manchester United won against Newport County 4-2 at Rodney Parade. Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, Antony and Rasmus Højlund scored for United. Nevertheless, the Welsh team managed to make United nervous by scoring two goals through Bryn Evans and Will Evans. These goals tied the match before Ten Hag’s crew scored two more goals towards the end of the game.
