Manchester United claimed that Marcus Rashford could not play in their FA Cup game against Newport on Sunday because he was sick.
Erik ten Hag has cautioned that he will "address" the issue, amidst rumors that Rashford was seen at a nightclub in Belfast earlier this week.
The reports regarding Rashford were not addressed by United who simply stated that Rashford remained at Carrington to train as he continues to recover.
The manager named Erik ten Hag declared on Friday that Rashford was unwell. He further stated that he'd assess Rashford's condition before deciding whether or not he could make the team for the upcoming FA Cup round four match against Newport from League Two.
However, when questioned about the reason for Rashford's non-appearance before the start of the match, Ten Hag insinuated that there might be other factors at play and stated that it was an internal affair, which he would handle personally.
At the start of the season, Ten Hag expressed his disapproval of Rashford's decision to participate in birthday festivities following United's defeat to Manchester City. He deemed it inappropriate behavior.
Ten Hag acknowledged the issue and had a discussion with the individual involved back in November. He expressed that the behavior was not tolerable and made it clear to them. The person apologized and the matter was resolved.
In the past, Ten Hag has had issues with other players before Rashford. Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho have both left the club after having disputes with the manager during his tenure.
