Man City vs Brighton LIVE: Latest score, goals and updates from Premier League fixture tonight

27 mins: Good stuff from Mahrez who chips a pass into the far post. Gundogan keeps the ball alive and knocks it into the six-yard box. Foden is the closest City player to the ball but he’s beaten to it by Joel Veltman who takes no chances and boots it away. 

24 mins: Brighton are playing some nice football on the counter attack but Man City are up to the task. Once again Trossard is played into the left side of the box but he’s covered by John Stones who leans on him and guards the ball as it rolls out for a goal kick. 

21 mins: Man City win a corner that Phil Foden whips into the middle. Brighton head it out as far as De Bruyne who quickly sends the ball back in. Sanchez comes out and confidently claims the ball.

18 mins: Chance for Trossard! Mac Allister plays a lovely ball up to the Brighton forward and Trossard carries the ball into the box. He’s got two defenders in front of him but manages to feed a shot through them. He tries to curl it into the bottom corner but doesn’t pull it off and ths hot goes wide. 

15 mins: Big save from Robert Sanchez! City move the ball slickly as De Bruyne finds Gundogan on the edge of the box. He makes a run into the area and receives the ball, De Bruyne opens up his body and side foots a shot at goal, Sanchez makes himself big and blocks it with his body before Mac Allister tidies up.

12 mins: Good work from Alexis Mac Allister who intercepts a pass from Mahrez and takes hold of the ball. He passes it back to the defence and Ben White wins a free kick after he’s fouled by Kevin De Bruyne. 

9 mins: Cancelo gets forward again on the overlap and is passed the ball by Riyad Mahrez. Cancelo’s low cross is blocked by Lewis Dunk and then booted away by Bernardo. 

Brighton have the chance to counter attack with Leandro Trossard but he’s shimmied out of play and City win a throw in. 

6 mins: Joao Cancelo does well on the right side of the box. He turns and whips in a decent cross. The ball goes over Gundogan but drops for Phil Foden. He lays it off to the oncoming Oleksandr Zinchenko who drills a shot at goal that gets blocked and cleared. 

3 mins: Ilkay Gundogan tries to make a run into the box. He plays a one-two with Bernardo Silva and sprints through the lines into the box. His touch then takes the ball away from him and it runs out of play for a goal kick. 

Kick off: Brighton get the match started with an aerial ball into the midfield. Man City win the header but it comes back to Brighton who pass the ball back to Robert Sanchez in goal. He kicks the ball forward and out for a throw in on the right hand side.
