Amorim Reveals Starting XI Against Ipswich
Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 3:15 PM
Ruben Amorim has announced his initial starting squad as the new head coach of Manchester United, just before our Premier League game against Ipswich Town.
There has been a lot of excitement in recent days about the Portuguese coach's lineup, mainly because of rumors suggesting he would deploy a three-at-the-back formation for the Reds.
Based on the roster, it's not entirely obvious whether Amorim will proceed with that plan at Portman Road, where the match is set to start at 16:30 GMT.
The major update is that Marcus Rashford will be leading the attack, and both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are on the bench for the first time this season following their extended injuries.
In the heart of the defense, Matthijs de Ligt is joined by Jonny Evans, with Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui also in the starting lineup.
Kobbie Mainoo is ready to come back as a substitute, but right from the start, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will take charge of the central midfield for Amorim’s team.
Alejandro Garnacho and Amad are also included in the starting eleven, with Bruno Fernandes taking on the role of captain. The lineup appears to be very encouraging and focused on offense, showcasing the vision of our new head coach.
Ipswich's lineup includes players like Muric, O'Shea, Burgess, Tuanzebe, Davis, Cajuste, Morsy, Hutchinson, Szmodics, Burns, and Delap.
United's lineup includes Onana, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Fernandes (captain), Rashford, Eriksen, Amad, Garnacho, Casemiro, Dalot, and Evans. On the bench are Bayindir, Malacia, Shaw, Mainoo, Mount, Ugarte, Antony, Hojlund, and Zirkzee.
