Manchester United must somehow put their humiliating 7-0 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool behind them with the club back in Europa League action this week.

The Europa League Round of 16 first leg encounter with Real Betis will present Erik ten Hag and the United squad with the first opportunity to move on from the historic capitulation at the weekend.

United are one of the favourites to win this season’s Europa League and they have already knocked out a Spanish team in the competition – Barcelona in the play-off round.

That victory last month kept alive the prospect of United securing a cup treble this term having already won the Carabao Cup and having reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Here is how you can watch Manchester United vs Real Betis this week.

What time does Manchester United vs Real Betis kick-off?

Manchester United vs Real Betis will kick-off on Thursday, March 9 at 8pm UK time.

What is the team news?

Casemiro reportedly picked up an injury in the mauling at Anfield and there had been some concern over his availability for Wednesday clash, but ten Hag appeared to confirm in his press conference that the influential Brazilian will be fit enough to feature.

United will definitely be without Marcel Sabitzer, while Anthony Martial is back on the training pitch but is unlikely to feature against the La Liga side.

It remains to be seen whether Victor Lindelof will return in time having missed the game on Sunday.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek remain long-term absentees.
