Manchester United transfer news LIVE Real Betis reaction plus ...
What a difference a few days makes. While that horrible afternoon at Anfield hasn't been completely forgotten about, Manchester United's win over Real Betis last night has certainly lifted the mood at Old Trafford.
The Reds look to have one foot firmly planted in the last eight of the Europa League thanks to their professional display last night. Despite Marcus Rashford's opener being cancelled out by a superb Ayoze Perez strike, the home side weren't to be denied a first-leg advantage as further goals from Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst secured a 4-1 win.
Erik ten Hag's men travel to Spain next week as they look to complete the job, though their next task sees them return to Premier League action as they take on Southampton on Sunday.
Away from on-field matters, the potential sale of the club rumbles on, with prospective buyers now entering the second phase of the takeover process. Meanwhile, Rashford picked up his third Premier League Player of the Month award after an impressive February, which saw him move level with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah for the most awards in a single season.
TODAY'S BIG TALKING POINT: Is the win over Betis enough to suggest the Liverpool game was just a bad day at the office? Have your say here.

According to SunSport, United captain Harry Maguire is a summer transfer target for French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The report claims that the Parisians will have to match Maguire’s £200,000 a week wages, with PSG having been interested in a deal for the 30-year-old in January.
MEN Sport understands Maguire is among the players United plan to sell. The former Leicester man has just 21 appearances in all competitions this term.

Real Betis captain Joaquin admitted it would be difficult for the Spanish side to progress to the next round of the Europa League after losing heavily to United.
Speaking to Cadena Cope, he said:
"The feeling is that we were not the team from the first half, and well, in five minutes, they sentenced the tie. It’s a big result, against a great team. It’s already difficult to beat them, imagine trying to put four past them. In the end, we have to be realistic, we’re going to fight until the end to give a good impression of ourselves, above all at home. But we have to be realistic, it’s an opponent that have very good players."

Manchester United have added Mason Mount to their midfield shortlist, according to The Guardian.
Though a striker is United's biggest priority in the summer, it's understood Erik ten Hag would also like to add another quality midfielder to his ranks. United have been long-time admirers of Jude Bellingham and could reignite their interest in Frenkie de Jong despite the Dutchmen's preference to stay at Barcelona.
With Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen likely to fetch a very high price, it's reported that Mount could be a cheaper alternative to Bellingham who would also be priced in the £100million region. Mount is in a stand off with Chelsea over a new contract with his current deal set to expire next year so could be available on a discount.

Lisandro Martinez is delighted for Bruno Fernandes and Antony after they scored for Manchester United against Real Betis.
Erik ten Hag wanted a response from his players after the Anfield debacle and he got exactly that against Betis, with his side comfortably defeating the Spanish club 4-1 at Old Trafford, despite the scoreline being level at the break.
Marcus Rashford, Antony, Fernandes and Wout Weghorst, whose only previous goal for United came against Nottingham Forest in January, got on the scoresheet and the latter looked particularly delighted to find the net.

Erik ten Hag thought Bruno Fernandes was "the best player on the pitch" in Manchester United's 4-1 Europa League win over Real Betis.
United all but secured a quarter-final spot in the Europa League with a resounding round-of-16 first leg victory at Old Trafford, scoring three second-half goals four days on from the 7-0 drubbing by Liverpool.
Fernandes, who has donned the armband for the majority of the season with club captain Harry Maguire a rare starter, was widely criticised for his lack of leadership at Anfield and his theatrical reaction to a challenge by Ibrahima Konate.
Here's what he said.

It was back to winning ways for United last night.
Erik ten Hag's men cruised past Real Betis, with the Reds taking a 4-1 lead to Spain next week.
Here's how our chief United writer, Samuel Luckhurst, rated the players:
David de Gea
De Gea has never been as egregious with the ball at his feet as he was in the first half and one resulted in Betis hitting the post. 4
Diogo Dalot
Fortunate to start and had another uncomfortable half. Substituted at half-time for the second time in the last four games. 4
