Man City in turmoil and Pep Guardiola is struggling to find a solution, says Jamie Carragher
Manchester City is facing a significant struggle, and Pep Guardiola seems to be at a loss for solutions, according to Sky Sports analyst Jamie Carragher.
City suffered their seventh loss in 10 matches after losing 2-0 to Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday night. This setback puts them at risk of missing out on the knockout rounds.
That's the same number of losses the Premier League champions endured over the past four years, during which they played 105 matches under Guardiola. This comes as he is currently achieving an extraordinary series of results, just after extending his contract for another two years.

When asked about Guardiola's thoughts following the loss in Turin, the Sky Sports analyst remarked on CBS, "He's probably wondering, 'What made me sign that contract?'"
It's hard to wrap your head around what’s happening. We're facing a significant situation. This has been a problem for a while now, at least two or three weeks. Even the best and most successful manager in history seems to be at a loss for solutions at this moment. He really doesn't have any answers.
He's experimented with various approaches, tried different tactics, and even shuffled players around in different roles. It's clear that a manager of his caliber is having a hard time and facing significant challenges.
Sunday, December 15th at 4:00 PM, with the game starting at 4:30 PM.
He's never faced this kind of situation before, so he lacks any experience to rely on. With his history of success, he doesn't have any previous challenges to reflect upon. This is truly a moment of realization for him.
Many coaches worldwide are likely watching Pep with a knowing smile. They may not take pleasure in his struggles, but they can't help but think, "At last, Pep Guardiola is experiencing what we've all faced at some point in our careers."

Guardiola has confessed that he's been reflecting on his own decisions following Manchester City's recent loss.
"I definitely have my doubts, but I stay steady during both the highs and lows. I always look for a way to make it work. I'm very straightforward. If we perform well, I acknowledge it, and today I genuinely believe we played well," he shared.
"Our gameplay will lead us to victory. We have the ability to succeed. We've allowed fewer opportunities for the opponent compared to our match against Nottingham Forest, which we won. We're maintaining the right rhythm."
"We failed to make the final pass, didn’t reach the six-yard area at the right time, and lacked the calmness we needed in crucial moments."
"I really care about my team. That's just part of life; tough times come and go. We might be facing challenges right now, but I'm committed to pushing through until we achieve our goals."
City is set to have a challenging match against Paris Saint-Germain next month, a team that is also in danger of not making it through to the next round. Following that, they will have a home game against Club Brugge.
Guardiola acknowledges that the primary goal now is to secure a spot in the top 24 of the Champions League standings.
He mentioned, "That's our goal. We’re aiming for either one point or three. We’ll head to Paris with the intention of achieving that, as well as in our final home game."
Gundogan And Pep Clash Over City's Issues
After the match against Juventus, experienced midfielder Ilkay Gundogan mentioned that he believed the team was struggling with a lack of confidence. However, Guardiola quickly brushed off his remarks.
"I don't share Ilkay's opinion," he stated. "It's definitely challenging, but aside from one or two matches during this time, we've performed well."
City is about to face another challenge as they welcome their rivals Manchester United for a derby match this Sunday.
Gundogan shared with TNT Sports, "Confidence plays a significant role in this. It's also related to mindset."
It's clear that there are moments when we fail to connect with the ball or get outplayed in a confrontation, and you can see how quickly we fall apart and lose our momentum. The other team doesn't have to put in much effort, yet it has a significant impact on us at this moment. Even the smallest things can disrupt our flow.
You need to focus on doing the basics really well and maintaining a smooth flow. After that, it's back to putting in the effort. This is how you regain your confidence—by mastering the small, simple tasks. However, we tend to make mistakes during critical moments.
