M6 crash: One killed as lorry overturns in motorway crash

A tragic accident on the M6 in Lancashire resulted in one fatality, leading to the closure of a portion of the motorway. A lorry overturned, struck the median, and ended up on the opposite side of the road, colliding with the rear of a car.
The highway was closed in both directions between Junction 33 close to Lancaster and Junction 32 near Preston following the accident that occurred around 11:20 GMT.
Authorities reported that numerous individuals sustained serious injuries, and emergency responders, including a helicopter ambulance, were present at the location.
National Highways reported that there were significant delays in both directions on the highway, and the road is anticipated to remain closed for several hours.
The accident has led to delays on the M6.
A representative from Lancashire Police stated that the truck, which was headed north, veered onto the southbound lane and collided with several other cars.
He remarked, "Unfortunately, the accident has led to one death and several serious injuries."

Emergency crews are still on-site, and the highway stays closed in both directions between junctions 32 and 33 as we manage the situation.
