A section of the M25 in Surrey will be closed for the entire weekend.
The latest updates from BBC News in the Southeastern region.
Motorists are being advised to anticipate traffic congestion prior to the upcoming closure of a section of the M25.
The freeway will be closed between exits 10 and 11 in Surrey starting at 9:00 PM on Friday and will reopen at 6:00 AM on Monday.
This will be the third out of five weekends when the M25 will be closed this year as part of a project costing £317 million aimed at easing traffic congestion and enhancing the flow of vehicles.
Chris Wood, from AA, mentioned: "Due to the recent win of England against Holland, many football supporters are adjusting their schedules, so we can expect high levels of traffic in and around London."
He stated: "We recommend drivers to carefully plan their trip, avoiding the western section of the M25 if they can, and to visit websites of ferry and tunnel operators for any new information before starting their journey."

The road will be closed so a new bridge can be built at the roundabout on junction 10.
The closure is necessary to put in a new bridge at the roundabout on junction 10 (Wisley).
The upcoming project is scheduled to finish in the summer of 2025. It aims to expand the lanes at junction 10, known as one of the busiest and riskiest motorway junctions in the UK.
On weekends between 10:00 and 21:00, an average of 4,000 to 6,000 vehicles travel on the M25 between junctions nine (Leatherhead) and 11 (Chertsey) in both directions every hour.

The RAC mentioned that alternative routes will be available when the closures occur.
Many people who are driving to and from Heathrow Airport in London and Gatwick Airport in West Sussex, as well as Dover for ferry services across the Channel, will be impacted by the road closures.
The RAC recommended that people heading to the airport should leave with plenty of time to spare and noted that alternative routes will be available.
The National Highways expressed worry that GPS devices could lead certain drivers onto smaller roads once they exit the M25, causing traffic congestion in neighborhoods.
The last two weekend shutdowns for the project will happen at a later time this year.
